Republicans Call Obama's Tax Plan "Class Warfare"

The Republicans in Michigan have quietly and successfully waged their version of class warfare under "Slick Rick" Snyder--tearing up teacher contracts, privatizing public schools, becoming the only state to reduce regular unemployment benefits from 26 to 20 weeks, charging 12% interest on unemployment benefits determined to have been paid in error by the unemployment agency, abolishing the unemployment compensation appeals board by the governor's executive order and reconstituting it packed with handpicked employer supported representatives. "Slick Rick" Snyder slips his knife into the backs of the poor with a smile on his face.

      He's horrible!!
I read that people will MOST ASSUREDLY become homeless by his plan, while multi-million dollar businesses will have a trillion dollar tax break.

I don't know where this Cult comes from, but it needs to go back from wherever it was born.

I am from Michigan.....this is NOT the Motor City Mentality!

What you and your NYT fails to understand is the Gov represents ALL the people, not just those in public service unions. The teachers pay nothing for their health care, and the people of MI can't afford it anymore. What yoy fail to realize is the people most hurt by this bad economy are the ones that have to shell out for those union workers to get all their benefits and pay. Studies show that extending
Unemployment benefits , keeps people out of work!

I say good for Governor Snyder!

Spun? Do you think only public service unions deserve high pay and benefits? Do you that they should not have to sacrifice but all the rest of the people in MI struggling to keep their homes, their savings, and their jobs should support the demands of the politically connected few?  Why that doesn't sound very socialist of you John!

            There you go, spinning again!

No, I don't think only public servants deserve high pay and benefits but you don't level the playing field by lowering their standards.

        Exactly, Lady.

But as I pointed out the other day, they, the Leftist/Progressives think the Unions are representative of the American worker... and they are NOT.

        Not in the least.

        All Unions must go.

unions are out dated....they were intended to make sure people were treated right and paid right when laws did not exist as they do now such as minimum wage and worker safety laws, now they are just self righteous groups

Nick, why do you think those laws exist and how long do you think they would last if you had your way and unions were no more?

becoming the only state to reduce regular unemployment benefits from 26 to 20 weeks, charging 12% interest on unemployment benefits determined to have been paid in error by the unemployment agency

I am shocked to see this--I hadn't heard about it before.  They actually REDUCED unemployment benefits in one of the states hit the hardest in this mess?  And charged interest on errors in payment?  That's just unconscionable.  I'm in Ohio, where unemployment is very high, too, STILL.  But we at least have gotten extensions for the folks out of work, helping them until this economy improves.

    "tearing up teacher contracts"
"The teachers pay nothing for their health care, and the people of MI can't afford it anymore."

What's this about the teacher's contracts...and lady love's statement about the teachers not paying anything towards their healthcare?  Is that true? Nothing?  When so many people in other careers or jobs can't afford healthcare at all, because of the high cost?

I'm sorry--I know teachers have an important job, but so do many, many other people out there, who deserve insurance just as much...it doesn't seem right that the teachers get their healthcare at no extra cost...or did I misunderstand that part?
