   Wow, finally, people realize that there are a lot of dishonest people involved with Wall Street.  Incredible.  Hey protestors, you are a bit late. 
   
   Thanks for protesting the obvious.  I'm going to start protesting against cancer tomorrow, I heard it's bad too.

      I suppose you think (thought)the Tea Party was silly, too? There is a fair amount of overlap between the two.

         Interestingly, the local Patch report on this week's Doylestown PA Occupy protest included this bit of news:
         
         
         Some noted seeing members of the Doylestown-based Tea Party group Kitchen Table Patriots drive through the intersection waving “Don’t Tread on Me” flags.
         
         “This is what Doylestown looks like when we come together,” said Marlene Pray, Doylestown Borough Council candidate..."

      How many of the people who are protesting have jobs? How many of the people protesting work for Wall Street or corporate America?

         I wonder how many of the protesters buy products that are produced by the very people they are protesting?  I'm sure someone on Wall Street profits from the sale of patchouli.

            Better late than never.
            
            The idea of a protest isn't to get all sympathizers involved. It's to raise an issue with the general public that might be otherwise ignored.
            
            Belittling them by making insults about hippie cultural habits weakens your argument, not theirs.

   You have a more constructive approach to suggest? Because we have pretty much cured a bunch of cancers and are working hard on the rest to the tune of many millions of dollars and person-hours.

      @psycheskinner: well we should always do what we can to look for cures for cancer and other diseases, because there is a chance to find a cure.  But there is no cure for GREED.  Greed will always be a plague to the world.

   You are correct. We've known about the problem for quite some time. And yet nothing has changed. If the protests can force the issue. They've accomplished something that simply knowing about it wasn't able to.

   They are protesting here in Portland, Oregon as well. Many downtown streets have been filled and the city government has come out in support of the protests. Photos of hundreds and thousands of people choking of downtown have been on the headlines most nights.  Everyone I have talked to has a job and is not at it while they protest.  I asked a few guys and they came from different walks.  One guy, who was very young, was in IT, and two more worked security at a bank.  I can't remember anything else off the top of my head. 
   
   Everyone is normal from what I can see, at least from what's happening in my city.  There are literally thousands of them too.  It's impressive.
