The ignored HubStatistic.

   Many hubbers are concerned about hubscore, hubberscore, page views, followers, CTR and CPM, but there is one number which is rarely mentioned.
   Down at the bottom of your list of hubscores is a number which (I think) represents your average hubscore. I have seen mine go, very, very slowly,  from the low sixties to a more respectable mid seventy.
   This is the number that means more to me than most of the others, because it represents some kind of progress in overall quality.
   On the other hand, it may be as meaningless as all of the others. Does anyone else follow this number on their own accounts?

      @Rochelle - isn't that number entirely influenced by traffic only, (and perhaps time on page)?
      
      I don't think it reflects any importance with respect to "average" hub quality, (you could have just a few very good hubs carrying the low scores of some not-so-good hubs), but individual hub scores are important to me as a quality indicator because of the same reasons.
      
      as always... just an opinion (*lost my "expert" status when I tried walking on water)

         Yes, it probably is influenced by time and traffic-- but those also mean your hubs are doing better. I do have a couple of titles that are buoying all of the low scoring ones, but I Do also try to bring the lower ones up, by improving or promoting them in one way or another.
         As I said, it may not have much meaning.

      it also tells you one demension of the hub author score which is an average of the hub (individual hubs) score consilidated and averaged... nice! Thanx for bringing this up!

      I always do.. Mines always 75 +
      I don't know if its because I have few hubs but it is 75+

   Yes, I've been following it because it clearly has a bearing on my hubber profile score. I even took off some low scoring hubs with hardly any traffic, if any, (and posted them elsewhere) in order to get my average hub score to increase.

   I don't follow it for a couple of reasons.
   
   When sorted by score, every single hub scoring under 70 is less than a week old, and today all four of them were written yesterday or today.  That means that the more you write the more skewed the average will be, at least until you have hundreds of hubs.  Counting just now, nearly 15% of my hubs were written in the past month and are still a long ways from settling down in traffic or score - that will produce a variation for sure!
   
   Of those hubs in the 70's some don't get traffic because they are very seasonal and it's the wrong season.  Some were written on subjects I knew would never produce but I wrote them anyway because I wanted to.  And some, frankly, should be deleted but I don't because I like them.  The heck with everybody else; I like some of those low scoring hubs.
   
   Add in the random part of hub score and it seems to me that it can simply vary far too much for very good reasons as well as because of the random element.  That figure, even with 100 hubs, just doesn't mean much to me.  If I had a thousand I might not say that, but I don't. Just 124 and it doesn't take much to move that average score.

   My average Hubscore hasn't budged in the last two years, although both my traffic numbers and earnings have gone up in that same time frame.
   
   The only numbers I really pay attention to here are total dollars.

      relache, so even though for some reason my hubber score dropped a whole 4 points in the last 23 hrs, I should not pay it any attention because my earnings have gone up in the last 4 days?  That would be a relief if the answer is 'yes'.

   Yes I do watch that number, I view it as an average nothing more. since late june my traffic has fallen like a stone. But my overall hub score has managed to stay around 90, I would like to believe it is due to good content.
   I must admit the whole hub score thing is a bit vexing.

   According to this post by Hubstaff, it sounds like average hubscore of your published hubs is one of the factors determining Hubber Score.
   
   And in order to have DoFollow links on your Hubs, you need an average Hubber score of 75 or better. But it doesn't seem to be too difficult to maintain 75 with good content and traffic, so the only reason to care about average Hubscore is your own personal satisfaction.

      it is also good to determine your overall hub quality which helps you determine if some of your hubs are not so well written. I think it would be much more valuable to watch the individual page hub score in that list as that would help you tweak THOSE problem hubs. thanks for the top Greekgeek!

   That's a really interesting question, Rochelle.
   I've never given that statistic a bit of thought!!
   
   I pay attention to the #s of my top performing hubs (the "buoys" as you call them). The rest I barely even notice their score at all.
   
   Perhaps someday I'll unpublish some of those slacker hubs, the ones I wrote early on for fun, not profit. But it's like cleaning out the basement -- what those hubs lack in monetary value they make up for in sentimental value and HP nostalgia.

      That's me, too, MM.  Some of them bring tears of sentiment and I keep them.  Some of the early ones also bring tears of shame and dismay and I keep them to remember what not to do.
      
      Besides, each and every one of them is going to viral one day and make me a zillion $$.

   I am not sure how it is important.  It is an indirect measure of something you have a direct measure of (traffic and earnings).  In itself it is meaningless.  Mine has stayed at 80 as I lurch from 10c a day to $7 a day and back again.
