Ok, so I participate in the forums, ask and answer questions, read hubs and leave comments that are more than "great hub." (And I've been doing these all along). Granted I haven't written a new hub in a while but I have been active here.

At what point does my commenter level ever get past IV? I know it's just some silly little accolade but come on....

    That does seem unfair.

I have also been trying to break through that barrier! I wonder if someone can tell how often they update those accolades - is it instant?
Here's the blog page that may help: http://blog.hubpages.com/2011/05/commenter-accolade/

yes, I did see that when it was posted (guess I had forgotten how they were figured). Just feel like I'm "stuck" and going nowhere on HP even though I've been pretty active on the forums and reading and commenting on others' hubs.

      Indeed, as you should be.

Is not one accurate, insightful comment worth a thousand or more insipid "Attaboys"?

Is not a comment that makes us laugh worth more than a hundred that are stamped out with a cookie cutter?

This "Level X" commenter stuff is nonsense.

So this was obviously a whiny rant on my part some months ago....

Didn't you know, threads don't ever really die around here... they just go into hibernation.

I would say only one way to get a new badge or a higher level: Just be active and enjoy it. Well, these badges or acknowledgement will come itself when the time is right. I used to be very 'crazy' with these badges. Then I realized that I am totally missing the whole thing here at HubPages which is work togather with the community and enjoy yourself smile

I have no level yet smile, but I'm having a good time reading the hubs, questions, and forums! Gunna have to party when I get that level 1!

Slowly but surely, you will achieve it. Don't give up and most importantly, enjoy it.
