And to think I thought you went to the bank. . .

Just another "Im leaving Hubapges" . . yes LindaSmith1 has announced over and over that they are leaving (and heading to the bank with all their earnings from all the other sites that they think are better than Hubpages) deleting all their hubs to take them elsewhere. . Yet here they still are, causing problems and unrest among people who want to be here.

What is weird is using an avatar such as a dead persons. .

I am not going into battle with you, but you said you were leaving for greener pastures. .. so please do Hubpages a favor and live up to your word.

I made an error David. It was wavegirl who made comment about my fiance who died last year.

Wavegirl22 is a good friend of mine and is a great Hubber who like myself gets offended when flybynight Hubbers disrespect this site because they have had a glitch in their accounts. take your hubs if you are not happy and please go elsewhere.....jimmy

Linda:  There is a lot going on in this forum that I do not agree with.  I must say that I value you as a person and I appreciate that you are looking out for yourself. From someone who has lost their life partner I can feel that pain.

To you Others: Other people SHOULD respect that too.  That basis of a productive argument is not to use fallacy such as Ad Hominem.   We gain nothing by attacking people instead of debating their arguments.

Karma David, Karma.  I had a neighbor make fun of him after he died.  Not long after that, she now walks around with a permanent trach, and from what I understand has cancer. Her next step may very weill be life support as well.

I'm kind of out of the loop on the leaving Hubpages thing but may I weigh in as an "I'm staying and loving it" Hubpages writer. It does not make sense to me that Paul and the HubPages founders would want to deplete our earnings...they've worked too hard to get HubPages to where it is. I have seen every attempt to guard us, fight for us and give us more in the way of tools and income possibilities. Personally, I appreciate HubPages .

That's something that few seem to catch on to.  Outside of changing the 60/40 split or outright theft, there is little that HP can do to decrease our earnings without decreasing their own.

The paypal requirement will apparently hurt those outside North America, but that's about it.

Whilst the Australian Dollar remains high against the Greenback it will benefit Australian Hubbers on the exchange. Only until the Aussie dollar dips under again.

You know if i was just coming into hubpages now, many of the latest changes wouldnt be so disheartening or destructive to my views of its current direction. Its not so bad or unusual to get paid by paypal when working online, its not terribly restrictive to be able to sign up and get paid by multiple aff streams through one convenient source.

BUT, I didnt start just now. Ive been writing revenue producing content for 2+ years. Ive created content with specific strategies and I have invested time (and more importantly to me, personally recommended and defended the site to others).

Its distressing that HUbpages policy has been to completely disregard and disrespect the previous "Terms of service" that most of us joined under.

Its kind of difference between "good" and "great" .. many of you arent getting the importance of having independence and control of your partnerships. I have an ePn account, I like my direct deposits from amazon, my paypal from epn and my checks from adsense. Works just fine for me. I dont need babysitting of my income sources for me. If I had known that this independence would be taken from me, I would have invested far less effort into the platform. I never would have imagined it was possible for HUbpages to turn into a Squidoo clone, but it has .. no question about it.

Most of you that choose to blindly cheerlead dont even know what you are giving up .. you have yet to properly utilize your data that to this point was known only to you. The conversion and traffic history that used to site privately in your personal dashboards is pure gold. Absolute Gold ... now a 3rd party will have access to that data and they can and will utilize it to assist their bottom line. Thats not some conspiracy theory.. thats how data is used by everyone from google and facebook to yieldbuild.

Alot of the success you can find in this industry is based on finding openings, holes in competition and demand, When you find those windows, you should use them to the best of your ability and keep the highest level of opsec you can create. If your gladly giving away that data now .. well then .. peter principle it is for you, isnt it.

As much as you choose to be adamant about (poorly)defending Hubpages against any who want to share their frustrations about policy change, customer service and direction of the site .. 1. I hope the line "move the content" isnt a serious suggestion as any online writer should be aware of the importance of age and even the convenience issue 2. Community doesnt require handholding and kumbayas , but it does require some level of assistance among its users/community members.

You know it should be clear that almost every single user who was once active in the forums who did have some professional sense to them or some success in online writing/internet marketing is gone now. This was the community I could personally turn to for assistance in my projects and need for knowledge.

I dont mean that as a jab at remaining writers, and I surely could have missed many a well written forum post or conversation ... but, as far as I can tell .. not a single user who actually makes a living solely from online earnings and specifically from this site opens their mouth here in a positive or helpful manner.

    That doesnt tell you something?

Good advice these days would be something like .. "Do not allow yourself to become invested in Hubpages" Play around, talk to the great people sharing great stories and info ,, but be damn aware of taking advice in the forums and do not become dependent on an income source that is no longer transparent and who now has a serious and real history of user neglect and poor stewardship.

This is supposed to be a writers' COMMUNITY.
If you're only here for the money, no wonder you're unhappy.

Anyone who feels their greed needs are not being adequately met on Hub Pages are free to leave. There are lots of other places on the Internet to go and make money.
Will they still be in business next month? Will their TOS be forced to change due to commercial forces? Who can say.
The grass appears to be greener, so I'm sure it must be.

Meanwhile, this community garden needs positivity and TLC from all of us to flourish.
