What am I doing wrong?

I am new to HubPages so I hope that I am not doing something wrong by accident.
I have been publishing my hubs in certain topic areas and I am pleased to see growing ratings in those hubs.
Sometime later I will move the hub to a different but still related hub topic, I will see a slight increase in the rating for the hub.   But soon after that, the hub rating will drop considerably from only a day or so before?
Am I violating a procedure by resubmitting hubs to different topic areas?

Thanks for helping out this newbee.
    Don

Don, if you mean the Hubs' scores, those change for different, system-related, reasons (but also because they may go up or down for "their own" reasons).   New ones start low and have to work their way up (if they're going to), but they also tend to get a boost because they're new (and then settle a little after a little while).  Each Hub is different, of course; but basically, any time any score on here drops a little it doesn't generally mean you've done something wrong.

        Thanks Lisa,
I guess I am trying to analyze the Hub ratings a little to closely, considering my analytical nature.
I would sure like to study that formula that determines the score.

Thanks for your help, now back to writing.  smile

          Hi Don,
Don't waste your time trying to analyze the formula, it changes randomly. The hub which receives no traffic at all reaches 94 and it's lowest is 75 (my case) and the one (just one smile ) which gets google, yahoo and bing traffic is between 70 - 80..
          So what's the relation?

Hi Don, welcome to Hubpages.  There are so many factors affecting hubscore.. sadly, I don't know most of them, if not all. big_smile  I have a few hubs that have lots of comments and tons of awesome, beautiful, useful, interesting or funny votes from our fellow hubbers.. yet their hubscores are in the low 70's.  My own author score lingered in the low 80's for a whole year.. it really pi$$ed me off and lost my motivation writing.  But most hubbers say, "Oh hubscores don't mean a thing!"  yeah I would say so too if my hubscore was 100. lol

Just keep on writing.  Whether you are writing to make money or just passionate about writing, Hubpages is a good site full of very friendly helpful hubbers (and a few trolls, too.. but of course).

    Happy hubbing!

    Thanks Rosie2010 and lobobrandon,
I promise to quit analyzing the results and just write for the fun of it.

    Thanks everyone, Back to writing.

      Hi Don,
You'll just drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out (as I do). I have a few hubs that have been up for almost a year, and they sit right at that 75 spot, usually a few points below. Every time I swear I'm going to delete them, they shoot back up! Some people have a blog for hubs that aren't doing so well, you can get a free one at Blogger.com. I know once you write a piece it's like a part of you. Best wishes at HP!

Analysis is good I didn't say stop smile I still do it as well big_smile
I meant don't bother about scores here on HP as long as it's above 75. Your hub score doesn't matter at all

Everything you do here is a serious violation of the TOS. Read the TOS, you will have a better idea of what hubpages is really about. It's called self-contradiction.
