I am new to HubPages so I hope that I am not doing something wrong by accident.
I have been publishing my hubs in certain topic areas and I am pleased to see growing ratings in those hubs.
Sometime later I will move the hub to a different but still related hub topic, I will see a slight increase in the rating for the hub. But soon after that, the hub rating will drop considerably from only a day or so before?
Am I violating a procedure by resubmitting hubs to different topic areas?
Thanks for helping out this newbee.
Don
Don, if you mean the Hubs' scores, those change for different, system-related, reasons (but also because they may go up or down for "their own" reasons). New ones start low and have to work their way up (if they're going to), but they also tend to get a boost because they're new (and then settle a little after a little while). Each Hub is different, of course; but basically, any time any score on here drops a little it doesn't generally mean you've done something wrong.
Thanks Lisa,
I guess I am trying to analyze the Hub ratings a little to closely, considering my analytical nature.
I would sure like to study that formula that determines the score.
Thanks for your help, now back to writing.
Don
Hi Don,
Don't waste your time trying to analyze the formula, it changes randomly. The hub which receives no traffic at all reaches 94 and it's lowest is 75 (my case) and the one (just one ) which gets google, yahoo and bing traffic is between 70 - 80..
So what's the relation?
What actually are you doing right?
Ask this question, and move on.
Hi Don, welcome to Hubpages. There are so many factors affecting hubscore.. sadly, I don't know most of them, if not all. I have a few hubs that have lots of comments and tons of awesome, beautiful, useful, interesting or funny votes from our fellow hubbers.. yet their hubscores are in the low 70's. My own author score lingered in the low 80's for a whole year.. it really pi$$ed me off and lost my motivation writing. But most hubbers say, "Oh hubscores don't mean a thing!" yeah I would say so too if my hubscore was 100.
Just keep on writing. Whether you are writing to make money or just passionate about writing, Hubpages is a good site full of very friendly helpful hubbers (and a few trolls, too.. but of course).
Happy hubbing!
Thanks Rosie2010 and lobobrandon,
I promise to quit analyzing the results and just write for the fun of it.
Thanks everyone, Back to writing.
Don
Hi Don,
You'll just drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out (as I do). I have a few hubs that have been up for almost a year, and they sit right at that 75 spot, usually a few points below. Every time I swear I'm going to delete them, they shoot back up! Some people have a blog for hubs that aren't doing so well, you can get a free one at Blogger.com. I know once you write a piece it's like a part of you. Best wishes at HP!
Analysis is good I didn't say stop I still do it as well
I meant don't bother about scores here on HP as long as it's above 75. Your hub score doesn't matter at all
Everything you do here is a serious violation of the TOS. Read the TOS, you will have a better idea of what hubpages is really about. It's called self-contradiction.

Okay, guys! What am I doing wrong here? I have written 39 hubs, and only made $4.94 on AdSense. That must be the hardest earned $4.94 of my life - no joke! I made more than that in one evening of babysitting 25 years ago.HELP!! Please!! I have heard it takes...

I took the hubpage challenge and completed it. 30 hubs in less than 30 days (just). My hubs are doing okay with almost 300 views and averaging about 15 a day, but no recorded onward orders. I have google adsense and amazon accounts and all my hubs have ads highly positioned. But, despite all that,...

I've been on here for 9 months and followed all the advice from the learning centre, forums and hubs from the best hubbers. I earned the first $24.00 in the first month and I'm only $1.00 ahead for the next eight. What am I doing wrong? All help will be greatfully received.

Well, it seems to me that my traffic is never going to increase.I am lucky to get one hit a week now, and the only traffic I am getting is from google.I know that being away for a while doesn't help much, but none of my other sites are doing any better. With all the stuff that is going on with my...

How long did it take you to get to 10,000 views? It took me 4 months and 3 weeks. Just wondering if that's about average, if there is such a thing.
