I have an ugly situation

   I have reason to believe that someone I know may try to jeopardize my online writing here at HubPages. I have indirectly received some threats. Long story short, it's someone that didn't like something I wrote about. They think it pertains to them.
   
   Any advice on this? I know HP is great about tracking IP addresses and stuff like that. When I got hacked last month they were awesome.

         Hmmmm...yes maybe a police report if anything odd comes up. I am closely watching.

      weird, this happened to me today too. then i tried to change my password and found i couldnt log in. i had to request hubpages to change it via email. synchronicity of the universe is very strange sometimes, unless this is a common occurence.
      
      What I have done is copy my work to my thumbdrive so that I have it saved offsite as well. Worst case scenario would be having my account deleted and losing all the work i put in, so this will prevent that.
      
      To me this provides the safety that even if i somehow had my work all erased from hubpages it would only take me 5 minutes to recover it back to a new account. I am not so attached to my account as I am to my work.

   As you say, you will just have to keep a very close watch on your work, and your traffic levels.
   
   I don't know how net savvy this person is, but as you know one thing they can do is sign your hubs or sites up to a traffic exchange site in the hope that Google bans you.
   
   But if you are watching closely, you will see any unusual traffic patterns.
   
   I don't know if you remember, but a couple of weeks ago I discovered someone had signed one of my blogs up to a traffic exchange and the first thing I did was disable Adsense myself.
   
   I then informed the traffic exchange site.
   
   I have noticed in the weeks since I have received traffic from two more exchange sites, but the traffic surge on each occasion has been brief, then died off. Luckily I hadn't put Adsense back on.
   
   I don't have enemies as far as I know, so this is just someone online who is maybe jealous of my rank or something.
   
   This is something we are all open to and have to be vigilant.
   
   Has this person actually done anything to sabotage your online writing in any way yet?

   Yep! compile all that has been said.Threats and everything....police reports are usually taken seriously even from an online point of view even though it's like an anonymous thing at times from the people who are doing it, it's still threatening behaviour.

   You can set which sites your adsense will show on also.  Go to your account settings, the last capsule, and set which sites you want to show your adsense ads on.
