Which part of our mind do we use more, the conscious or the unconscious?
The subconscious is active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It doesn't cease to function unless your brain ceases to function.
You may argue that the conscious mind is more efficient.
With a thought, it can motivate the body to lift up a pen. Thus, more work energy is done through the conscience mind even if it does not remain active as long.
They are equal. One cannot be without the other. One is not better or worse than the other. <my opinion>
I get deeper and sound answers from the subconscious, some are godlike
I am not on board with the mind being an object, let alone an object with measurable mass that is divided in two parts.
Then you are one who prefer to think with your heart
The mind is an interpretation of self and is an illusion. It is separated from many parts of the self conscious and subconscious, by ego. This too can be said of reality. Reality is the ilusion that the brain feeds the mind and the ego filters it, into bits and parts of the desire to be part of a self that does not exist.
It's not really separated; it's all connection like everything in the entire Universe. We lack the knowledge on how to connect our backbone to our brain mainly.
The thing that I was pointing out, is that the one is separated by illusion and ego and so in turn, ego and illusion.
Now, which one do you think is more intelligent or capable of doing more?
The mind is like a shack on the outside. Walk through the door, and there is a whole universe in there. The sub-conscious can even determine what the conscious mind perceives. The sub-conscious control center takes care of the main routines required by the body and builds the dream-state that exists in sleep. Things hidden in the sub-conscious can determine the quality of your life, can destroy your future if it isn't in good upkeep. Conscious action can be seriously affected by the sub-conscious. The sub-conscious is far busier, far stronger than the conscious mind. It is darker, more devious.
But there are some things the subconscious mind can't do that the conscious can do, correct?
Your subconscious mind is over 90% white matter which is being used. Much of your imagination runs the most powerful part of your thinking
Our deepest desires are but a longing to understand what the subconscious mind actually wants. We can't feel with it, we can't see with it and if we could, we would no longer exist. At least that is the view in quantum mechanics and metaphysics.
Must be a whole new way of thinking unknown to Mankind

I read recently that the subconscious part of our brain knows our decisions before we are even aware of them. I've heard this said over and over and not just by anyone but experts and doctors so it has to be true. That isn't my question however.I've always been intrigued by how sometimes I'll be...

How to increase the power of your subconscious mind
by earnestshub 13 years ago
I don't think so. I believe that the sub-conscious mind already knows there is no god.The flight and fight mechanism is the driving force behind the need for a god, but the mind already knows it is a self preservation mechanism the conscious mind sets up to cope with the fear of dying. That is why...
