   After seeing Susan Boyle on the xfactor uk I cried first time for years. The way she came out on the stage and acted like a total nonce even had the audience laughing at her I now put this down to nerves but at the time I to laughed along. then she was given her chance and boy did she take it. With the voice of an angle she went from nothing to world wide fame within 24 hours videos on youtube have clocked up over 60 million view, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY  Watch it and cry just like I did. Mad old women singing like an Angle. Should bring inspiration to us all.

            I agree that she's got her career all lined up at this point.  The "mad old woman" remark is a little bothersome.  I think her frizzy hair may have created the "mad scientist" look, but I think she's just a kind of awkward, ordinary, and reasonably young woman.  She may have been wearing "old lady" clothes, but to put "40's" in perspective, Jennifer Anniston is 40.  (I guess I needed to point out how young 47 is because I've been (eh hem) "36" for about 13 years now. )

         I think we laughed nervously sort of shocked it was almost like a comedy moment.. Because usually people appear on stage, even if they are challenged physically someone has tarted them up.
         But you are right she can sing.

      She is certainly favourite to win Britain's Got Talent.  However, a lot of her appeal is probably down to the way in which she looks etc and that she isn't the sort of glamorous Hollywood celebrity that normally appears on such programs.  However, I think a lot of that will be lost as soon as she starts to change her appearance, which I believe has already started to happen.  And she may still be beaten by the Grand Prix priest!

   I think what was particularly moving was to see all the faces on the judges and in the audience kind of melt into admiration.  I think we're all so used to talent not always mattering (when it comes to who makes it big), it was as if - for once - talent "won".  (Then, the same show had a ten year old girl who came out in a tutu, and everyone was kind of making faces at her - until she sang, and she was amazing too.  Maybe they learned for the next time around now.     )

   She is like a female version of Paul Potts when he was on the show.It shows don't judge a book by its cover...

      Not the guy with the pretend sax, I mean the one with the real sax, Julian Smith. (No I didn't think it sounded like a sax. I'm completely with Simon Cowell on that one!) The little boy is brilliant. I saw last nights semi, and I was really disappointed that Greg Pritchard didn't go through. I think he's brilliant, and I hope he gets a career out of all this. Anyway, tonight's the night!
