I have observed here recently that some hubbers who are inactive are having high scores and those who are actively participating and publishing new hubs, there hubber score going on down..
Is there any negative score for over participation?
There can be.
Following lots of users in a short amount of time will result in your author score going down.
Promoting the same site by spreading out a lot of single links across all your Hubs, thereby skirting the overly-promotional filter on individual Hubs, will also result in your author score dropping.
Providing a lot of wrong info or being overly-annoying in the forums also tends to cause your fellow site users to go over your Hubs with a fine-toothed comb and any with flaggable offenses will get reported to the moderators. No one talks about that but it's really quite clear if you watch the forums for a few years that it happens.
Are there maybe many groups of hubbers and each group can be seen only by -- I don't know quite understand how to word the question. I see the figure that there are something like 234,000 hubbers, so when I see that there are only about 20-25 authors in the 100 author score range, I wonder if there are maybe 20 or 40 'groups' which are all scored but we only connect with one of the groups?
Unless you are trying to get dofollow backlinks for your site, SCORES DON'T MATTER.
They are based on a secret algorithm and Google cannot see them - so it won't help your earnings or traffic.
You can still maintain a personal score of over 75 by doing nothing but writing hubs - you don't even need to interact with the site. I was inactive for 6 months and maintained a score in the 90s.
However spam, mass following people on the site etc can lead to lowered scores, because the scores are set up to stop spam.
The validity of the Original Point is however emphasized by a point which in essence amounts to a bit of an insult to everyone's intelligence.. whether or not that was the intention!
FACTUALLY: The same people who enforce their 'Secret' Algorithm also enforce and 'Openly' Promote To The Public Visitors Throughout the World..
- That the (Alleged) 'BEST' Hubbers on Hub Pages as a Matter of Promoted Fact can be found within the Best Hubber Section Above!
FACTUALLY: Those Promoted in this manner receive that Unwarranted Recognition BASED SOLELY on the same HUBBER SCORE that apparently holds NO Relevance to Anyone!
I believe the 'Secret' relates more to the non declaration of exactly How Much the 'algorithm' is Manually Adjusted against those asking for Openness!
Now... Watch My HS Drop further than it is now! I have No Belief in such Antics as above... I have found Hundreds of Vastly Inferior Articles written by Sock Puppets with poor command of the English language, yet having significantly higher scores and 'Best' rankings!
And PLEASE... Don't Insult my Intelligence by attempting to Justify the 'Anomaly' that I refer to here! The Point Made is Valid! And... for those of us that ensure that this site gets Quality Content.. it is an insult!
Cheers Madurai
Click onto HUBBERS (above left on page)..
Then Click onto 'BEST'
Now Evaluate What Their Hubber Scores are. I think you will find that the 'Best' listed here by HP are Recognized as the Best Hubbers On HP.. Solely on the basis of their Hubber score!
And Yet Hubbers are told that Hubber Scores are Irrelevant, which per the above, they clearly are not irrelevant!
Sorry if my previous post seemed a bit cumbersome.. perhaps if you consider the point from the context within this post it will float!

A month ago I announced some updates to HubScore: raw traffic is deemphasized, reader satisfaction is emphasized, and overall, the scores are a more accurate reflection of the quality of Hubs than they used to be. Today, I'd like to talk about the subsequent update to Hubber Score — the score...

My author score is now 88. I've been active on the forums, hopping hubs, and answering questions. I haven't had this low of score since when I first started. Does removing poorly performing hubs cause author scores to go down or what is the problem?

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...

For a good number of weeks my hubber score has hovered around the 100 mark. Two days ago it started falling, and as I write this, it is down to 89! If this keeps up, it will be 0 in a week! No rhyme or reason to it, but it leaves me wondering why this is happening. I know...

In the past four months I have had increasing views, higher CPMs, have been adding articles (and deleting some losers), good Amazon sales...and my Hubber score has dropped from 97 to 91 in the past few weeks! I don't get it...anybody else seeing this problem or can the team explain...

I am looking for 5 things that will increase my hubber score.Assume there are enough articles to manipulate and about 200 featured but a ton "less than". The hubber does not network and just wants to raise the score. There is no angst or financial issue, just raise that score.Should...
