Comparing now and the time of our forefathers, longevity rate has reduced drastically;people no longer live up to a 100+ years before dying. For instance, both my paternal and maternal grandparents died at the healthy age of:105,103,97 respectively, and the remaining one (my maternal granny) is above 100 still healthy and strong though, she tried kicking the bucket last weekend but her God said no! So i'm kinda worried as to the cause of rapid rate of human early and untimely death nowadays,is it tribute to technology, science, development and climate change or what?I would disclose what my granny told me about this soon as a hub.Like to hear from you wonderful guys?

To at least see your grandchildren play around, call you grandpa and you tell them folk tales that happened when the world was under the bread fruit tree.

you'll still be able to do that. I am 33, in twenty years, I may be a grandfather, but hopefully a few more years past that, but add another twenty five, I will still see my great grandchildren.

Life expectancy worldwide has risen on average by 4 months each year since 1970. I met my great grandmother, she lived to be 97. It depends on your family genes, lifestyle, etc. how long you live. I don't think the life expectancy is going down. Why do you think so acco?

The rate at which young people die around my area is quite alarming! We have 8 corpse unburied in my area now,and i heard news that many folks died in my village last month, courtesy of diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke including malaria and typhoid fever. My granny said it wasn't like that in their days.

Acco I suppose it has something to do with how the Colonial powers huddled all of your people into places your ancestors never lived and changed your whole habitat and way of life. I saw a program dealing with this very issue. What are your thoughts on that?

Wow I'm sorry about that. I suppose in your grandmother's day many of these diseases weren't so prominent. I can understand that.

I guess right, she's around 104 or so now, but sometimes she talks about death in a positive way, meaning she wants to join her ancestors, she said our world today is filled with vanity and corruption.

Everything used to be great back in  the day. Now, everything is just going to hell. Not just longevity - EVERYTHING.

The untimely death thing is not only in Africa,i guess its a global pandemic, don't you think so? Did your forefathers knew about HIV AIDS,Swine Flu,Bird Flu,CAD,etc? I am suspecting unchecked human activities;industrialization, deforestation, scientific researches, increased warfares and wars, all these causes climate change which also affects human health though.

Golden, you mean shag? Do you think that's the best?We need our forests back, and my foundation has that as our long term project;planting trees and raising plants to fill in the lost ones but my finance isn't enough for now. We seriously need to hold a treaty on this issue, our globe is decaying fast and we are doing nothing but to add more harm, can't we form an environmental friends association here and see how far we can go please?

No. They were too busy dying of TB, cholera, infections that antibiotics laugh at, in childbirth, etc.

Life expectancy in most of the world is far, far higher than it ever has been. The exceptions are places very badly hit by HIV or war.

Infact we need a serious and urgent global co-operation to check these adversities before human race becomes ruined forever. Goldent... do you believe this world will come to an abrupt end?

How do you guys see the idea of forming an association aimed at saving our global environment?

all in all Acco, people are pretty much just talk. People care but they have to worry about feeding their family before they go plant a tree. Its better just to shag and do cocaine then go crazy trying to convince people of the right thing.

I see! But if we can't unite,i sugest every hubber try and plant one tree in his or her area before this year runs out and they should try write a hub on ways of helping our environment before 31st December, 2009 at least.

Acco, you have too much faith in people. Hubpage people are nice but they don't control the world economy. Those that control our world economy must die or the Earth will. But they are without a face and so we have no idea what to do but throw rocks at each other.

They might be crooked and working for the world elite, in which case they don't care because they have the space station to live in when this world blows up.

Sorry..guess I should make a clarification.  I did the 30 hub challenge.  I have actually posted 35 hubs which was my personal goal so that I could have 100 TOTAL hubs.  I actually produced better quality hubs during the challenge than I did prior to the challenge.
