      I eat, I have a roof over my head, but other than that, yes I am pretty much "borke".  HP helps, though.
      
      On the other hand, I also still have my lovely wife with me and my kids and 6 grandkids nearby.  I travel this weekend to visit my mother and sister and reservations were made yesterday to meet another two this summer.  I am, truly, rich in what counts and what I value.

   Much better off. My daughter's are safer, and the country is showing some of the values I hold, versus feeling like I don't belong here.

   Yes. I wouldn't have foreseen losing my childhood home to the housing bust, but things are much better than they were. There are many more available jobs in my city, there's much less general panic and doom prophesying, and now I've got a couple of degrees under my belt and no longer have to worry about paying outrageously increasing tuition.

   My healthcare costs have gone up by multiple thousands of dollars a year since 2010 (as a combination of massive premium increases partially contributed to by the "Affordable" Health Care Act and subsequently having to downgrade to a high-deductible plan), my employer almost went under thanks to the continuing resolutions last year, and if my daughter ever needs a second heart surgery I'll probably have to look overseas to find a competent doctor and skip the inevitable death row waiting lists that will start in a few years.
   
   So no, at least as far as the current administration helping me goes.
   
   As for helping myself I'm doing a bit better than four years ago. With time it might get to be enough to counter all the setbacks.
