Video formatting takes 24 hours?

I uploaded a video to create a video hub yesterday, and it is still "formatting" almost 24 hours later. My other videos have formatted a bit faster than this one - is there a problem with the video formatting process, or am I just being a tad impatient? smile

My video took 5 minutes - I did just one so not sure how long the average time would be.

Whenever I upload a video, by the time I finish fixing the hub I would get an email stating that it is finished processing.

Maybe there is a glitch or the file type is giving some trouble. Hopefully a staff member will see this and tell you what's up.

Thanks, Cardisa and lobobrandon. I sent an email to the team, so we'll see if there is a glitch. I'll try to upload it again - it still says: "Video is still being processed. Please be patient.” It has been over 24 hours now, so something is definitely amiss!

Is it anything different compared to your previous videos? I mean the formatting

No, it is the same type of movie (.wmv created in windows live movie maker).

My last video took quite some time to format, too, but not this long. I wonder if it has to do with the size of the video file? It is certainly within the allowed parameters.

I just want to publish my video hub (which has a text component, too), but I can't without a video! I'm trying a second upload attempt.

Hmm ok. Mine were in the same format too. I wonder what the problem is. How large is the file?

It is 275MB... I can't remember what the video limits are. I wonder if that could be the problem?

      No way it isn't smile
The limit is 1GB and my video was 400+ MB. From next time I won't save in High Performance big_smile it was too big for a 5 minute video

Now that is a big file for a 5 minute video! I bet it looked really spiffy, though!

lol what do you save the video as? I saved it as a High definition - using movie maker itself.

I saved this one as high definition, but the video is fairly short (2 minutes and 12 seconds). 275MB for a 2 minute long video, lol - I will probably try saving it with a lower quality setting for longer movies.

Oh that's the same as mine then, mines double the length and double the size. It will be some time before I attempt another video. Took me 5 hours for a 5 minute video big_smile It was my first time making a video

This is my third one, and it does take less time as you get used to the program. I have the second attempt "processing" right now - hopefully this one will upload AND format, lol!

Hope it does! I'm off to bed now. Will be back in the morning and hope to see your video hub published smile

It worked! The first attempt is still "processing" but the second one formatted in a normal amount of time. Must have been a glitch the first time around!
