   well, failure to track has never happened from my own confirmed sign ups (personal referrals)

   I have a similar problem
   Mine will track to the 'Hubpage' but says I dont exist??

   We've created a page where you can check what tracker you have set, and clear it if you want.  If you are helping a friend sign up for HubPages, you can use this page to make sure that they are tracked to you.  Links with trackers that are posted in the HubPages forum and in requests are not honored (they will not be set), as we don't allow promotion or affiliate links in those areas of the site.

   Question ( oh surprise) lol ..why will my tracker expire within 4 weeks ,all I want is to be able to use it sign up so hopefully friends and family will sign up under my name ...but if its going to disappear whats the use?

      Trackers never expire, but the cookie that is set in a person's browser after they click on your link will only remain set for 30 days.  If they signup during that time, they will be associated with you as long they haven't clicked on someone else's tracker link in the interim.
