I think it would be very useful if HubPages somehow made it easier for Hubbers to use their AllPosters.com affiliate ID in hubs.  I don't want this because I am eager to get yet more money, I'ver not earned anything from AllPosters, but because using them is a brilliant way to illustrate a hub, without worrying about copyright.   They specialise in producing beautiful images on a huge variety of topics, and they positively want you to advertise these images on websites, as long as you provide a link back to their sales page.

Of course I am still using AllPosters images on my hubs, simply be downloading the image and linking it back to the sales page, I can't imagine AllPosters having a problem with that, however I feel a little bit sordid when saving the images, some of them have a watermark, I also worry weather I am doing enough to advertise the fact that these are for sale at their site, HubPages gets miffed if I put "Buy at AllPosters too often" and sends nasty sounding warnings.

On Squidoo I can add the AllPoster produced link to the product by pasting the HTML in the text box, however that does not work on HubPages.

Don't you get dinged for watermarked images? I had a YouTube video that simply had a news brand on behind the announcer and I had to remove it.

It would be a good idea - Wizzley has an agreement with AllPosters (similar to the eBay and Amazon capsules on HP) and it would be a win-win for everyone, because it would reduce the number of people using stolen images.

If you're just putting the AllPosters link in "Source", that's not enough to satisfy AllPosters' requirements.  You need to add a caption to let the reader know the image is for sale.  You can mix it up, e.g. "Buy this poster at AllPosters", "Buy this image", This image available from AllPosters", "Get this framed at AllPosters" etc.  Hopefully that will avoid HubPages' nasty warnings.

The other thing you could do - if you have a Hub where all the images are from AllPosters - is to create a right-floated, highlighted text box with the message, "All the images in this article are available as posters or framed artwork at AllPosters.com yadda yadda...."

If they have a watermark, they're not allowed on HubPages.  They may not be noticed at first, but eventually they will be noticed my a moderator and any Hubs showing watermarked images will be unpublished. If a moderator notices this discussion, it may happen sooner than you think!

Thanks for your comments Marisa, that's very useful, I shall go back and redo my images.  I had originally put captions of "buy this at allposters" on my images, but then the filter was getting uppity about my being too promotional.
