If Christians consider themselves to be the salt of the earth, what would you classify your personal belief to be? I would think it could fall into the category of a seasoning, preservative, condiment or even an entire food group (it doesn't necessarily have to be consumable); depending on how important you think your philosophy is, and how it fits into the whole.
I don't consider my ideas to be important, or necessary for group survival; but I do think they are similar to a growing number of philosophies, so I would classify myself as a independently manufactured mild hot sauce. Since the modern American palate is able to handle it better than it could in decades past.
What do consider yourself to be?
I might be seen as a thick slice of Icecream Cake with hot sauce. Cool and refreshing but with a taste of heat to awaken the senses.
Ice cream with hot sauce? Definitely a unique combination.
I get so hot and intense as a Christian I sometimes need something icy cold to bring me down and cool me off, but I don't wish to give up the heat totally, thus the hot sauce.

Never given it any real thought because I don't consider myself.
However, as I've stated before, if I did follow a "religion" it would be "Life". Since I see Life as ever changing, then it would have to be like eating dinner at different person's house every night, having a different meal each day with a different person.
So the tastes would be most likely different as well considering not everyone cooks or makes the same meals.
That's a good answer. I guess you have a point. If we aren't constantly changing/growing we probably wouldn't retain much flavor for long.
Gees...Emile. That is a much food for thought post.....
I don't think my philosophy is any more or an less important than another's. So maybe I would be something bland? Cannot think of a bland food at the moment.
Pineapple upside down surprise. And if Eve hadn't eaten that apple, we'd still be eatin' bananas with our cousin Bonzo.
Pineapple upside down surprise? It suits you.
I have no idea what that means because as soon as I heard pineapple upside down every other coherent thought left my mind...
Sending hubby to store now...
It is not the belief or the philosophy that matters to Christians it is the souls that count. It is not what people classify their beliefs to be but that they have asked the Lord to be their Lord and Savior. Just as John 3:16 says in the Bible He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. So no matter the flavor the true flavor is the Lord and He is the only one that will deliver your soul.
The proof is in the puddin ,,,, they say? I nominate me to get to be the puddin.
I wanta be the puddin!

I am young, and my peers are young. We all seem to come from families who practice different, even opposing relgions. Yet we see that as only a minor aspect of our lives. It weighs nothing on our relationships with one another and others. Even though some of todays youth may deem themselves...

Why are there so many rude responses to Hubs in the Religion and Philosophy topics? When we disagree, must we be rude and condescending?
