Do any of you write hubs for businesses?

   I am going to write a hub for the business I work for. I'm probably going to write it under a new sub-domain since I'm in the apprenticeship program and I don't think this hub will be acceptable in the A program. Have any of you written a hub for a business and how much do you charge? Any tips or advice on doing this? I've played around with the thought of doing this for a few businesses I know....

      If you want to write a promotional piece for a business on HP, you need to write an informational article about their area of expertise and then recommend (and link to) the business in the Hub.  I'd have thought that could be made acceptable to the apprenticeship program?
      
      If you're just going to write an advertising blurb for the business, it will probably be unpublished  as overly promotional - even if you put it on its own sub-domain.  And bear in mind that a sub-domain containing only a single Hub is a waste of time - as Paul Edmonson has recently confirmed, Google sees each sub-domain as a separate website, and Google doesn't like one-page websites.
      
      As for charges?  If it was going to be on my own HubPages account (and therefore I stood to make income from it long-term too), then I'd charge between $30 and $50.

         Thanks Marissa for the info. I think I can actually craft a hub that would work for the HP A program by focusing on one area. The owner nor I want the hub to be like an ad - but more educational anyway.
         I think I could make it work. Thanks again!!

   Some people charge by the word.  I know people who write for reputable magazines (Forbes, National Geo, PC MAG) charge around 50-65 cents per word, while newbies get around 1-2 cents per word if they're just starting off writing for a lesser known web site.  I was lucky enough to find a job that pays me by the hour to write.  I'm still new to the whole writing scene, so I make a little less than 10 bucks an hour, but I know people with copy writing skills or English degrees that charge up to 60 dollars an hour for their services.  So, you'd really have to base it off your education and experience with writing.
