Just write some rhyming lines if you can,
To follow those before is the plan,
Let us hope that the Muse will your pen inspire
And the `poetic word count will get much higher,
But try to make it rhyme and no blank verse,
It's more fun this way, no rhyming sounds worse!
Don't spend long, just let the words flow,
That's all from me now go, go go!
To bow to the poet's thoughts
a wish for rhymes of many sorts.
A very good start indeed,
More rhymes like this are what we need!
I can't help but think of Matthew Kirk.
I'm afraid he might just go berserk.
Instead of passing by without clicking,
He'll open this thread and start picking
on all the rhyming words he reads
and their authors - that's what feeds
his ego and his anger, you know.
So instead of a poem maybe I'll just go
publish a recipe hub instead.
Perhaps that won't hurt his pretty li'l head.
Oh that's right! He's way above us there, too.
Nah... I don't care what he will do.
He doesn't have to read it, you know.
Everyone keeps telling him so.
But if he passes poems by without a mention
He won't get any of that delicious attention.
He surely likes to stir the pot
Cooking up trouble 'til it's nice and hot.
He's making troll stew -- from scratch, no doubt.
I'll make it from a box, just to watch him turn red and thrash about.
Sorry SmartandFun I missed your submission.
As formatting in italics was my humble mission.
No need for apologies; I don't mind.
The italics looks nice. You are very kind.
A challenge of sorts from the Bard on the isle.
Poets heed the call, make the green man smile.
Bard has started, and 2uesday has too.
Would be a bit lonely with only two.
Detractors are saying poetry is passe.
They don't understand the game we play.
After awhile it's as easy as pie.
So rhyme now hubbers, it's do or die!
SmartAndFun and Snakeslane have the Bardic spirit
But where are all the rest?
Come on you budding poets,
With your poetic best!
I don't like poetry, or rhyming really
But I have to say this most sincerely
You guys create some wonderful stuff
And even though mine is very rough
And definitely isn't good enough
I offer in a supportive way
So poets can continue making hay
Rhyme with other stuff that sounds like hay
Even when it isn't spelt the same - example neigh
And curiously when all is said and done
I'm sure I'm not the only one
To notice that the only rhyming pun
For the critic known as Matthew Kirk
The only rhyming word is berk.
edit: I thought of another rhyming word but don't want to risk a ban.
Well, thank you, Mark Ewbie, for giving it a go,
You made me chuckle, don't you know?
Politics and religion are not on my writing scheme.
It is in rhyme and fictional stories that I dream.
Whatever takes your fancy can inspire your poetry,
And making dreams come true is the best way to be!
So thank you, 2uesday, for your words that rhyme,
This new thread is getting longer all in good time!
Bard's poetry forum is going slow
Perhaps the title is not exciting?
Hub forums not a place that poets go.
Some poets shy away from public show
Where trolls lure with baiting and inciting
Bard's poetry forum is going slow.
Poets would rather write than make a show
Be inspired by something more inviting
Hub forums not a place that poets go.
A summer lake, a country lane in snow
Sweet soothing scenes in poetry delighting
Bard's poetry forum is going slow.
If amid the noise and haste one must go
Take heed of forum pages troll sighting
Bard's poetry forum is going slow
Hub forums not a place that poets go.

Would you keep on reading if a poem rhymes or doesn't it matter to you at all?I feel some poems, don't read as easy as the ones that rhyme, especially when it's more of a blog/letter/message to express some sort of anger or discontent.I'm not a poet and I know poems don't need to rhyme necessarily...
