GOP prepares to file lawsuit against Holder
    By NBC's Frank Thorp
House Republicans will file a civil suit against Attorney General Eric Holder during the August recess, House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) has told NBC News.
House Republicans will file suit in an effort to compel Holder to release documents associated with the failed "Fast and Furious" gun-walking operation.

"We'll be filing a civil case during the break," Issa told NBC, "We will expect a day in court before a federal judge, which we have a 100 percent chance that the judge will hold that these documents should be delivered."

During negotiations between House Republicans and Holder in June, the White House invoked executive privilege on the documents Issa had requested for his investigation. Issa says that a federal judge should find that executive privilege does not apply to the documents he is requesting.

    Is this really necessary?

I don't know. Why don't you ask the family of the Border Agent who died if it's necessary.
I find it beyond hypocritical that Reid can commit slander and the call is, let Romney prove it's wrong by submitting tax returns.
Yet, there is no call to discover exactly who, what, when and where the involvement of the DOJ and this Administration was in the death of an American citizen.

Not really but everyone has to have a hobby and this is Issa's.

This is an interesting read for anyone who actually is curious about what has been unconvered about what went wrong during the program.  Read it and draw your own conclusions, not what people are telling you to believe.

lmao @ an MSNBC propaganda article. This article has been debunked and called "misleading and false" outright by several critics.
Nevertheless, let's give you the benefit of the doubt a bit. If true, why would Holder and the Administration not release the pertinent documents? And, the article pretty much just shifts blame from one to the other. It does not, as it claims, prove that gun walking did not go on or was not intentional.

          Ummm...

          No it hasn't.

But seriously, you can't prosecute legal gun sales.

Why not ask the prosecutors in Arizona why they didn't try the cases?

What happened to this man is a tragedy. Let's not politicize it.

Investigating it is not politicizing it.
Using a tragedy as a platform to lobby for gun control is politicizing it.
This is an investigation impeded directly by Holder and this Administration.

Using a tragedy to try to bring down the Democrats is just politicizing it as well.

Take it from an independent . . . the Democrats and Republicans are the tragedy. You both drink the Kool Aid.

And that will work out well for when I want a diplomat in the White House

It was not being used to "bring down the Dems" It was being investigated. The Dems and the President created this political bullet all on their own with their refusal to provide the documents, hiding behind Executive Privilege. Something Obama was all over Bush for doing and condemned.

We both know it's only being investigated because of the party affiliation of Eric Holder

Are you suggesting that gun control isn't worth pursuing?

The point isn't so much that the mission failed - it's that Holder was caught lying and now he's dragged the President into his web of lies.

I don't care for Issa, but the American people deserve better.

Of course it is necessary. Otherwise, it would not allegorically mirror the plot of "Ship of Fools".
