comment box is flipping around as I type

    I've been having issues with the comment box for the past few days. It actually 'disappears' when I am typing a comment. (Goes off screen, then reappears). Or  it switches from full size to a kind of foreshortened view. Best way I can describe is it keeps flipping around. (Frustrating.) I am using IE8 in Windows 7. Wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the comment box?

      I'm using Google Chrome and it's fine on all of them for me.  Internet Explorer is one of the worst, most vulnerable browsers you can use.  You might want to think about switching to Chrome of Firefox.

        Thanks Helena, yes you are probably right, but IE's been working for me just fine up to now. This is something new. So wondering if it's a bug or if anyone else is having this problem.

      @snakeslane
      Sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing.
      It looks like you are using Internet Explorer 8 in Windows 7.
      Does the issue persist if you upgrade to Internet Explorer 9?

      This issue seems to have gone away, but I am leaving this thread open in case someone else encounters the same problem.

    Thanks Matthew, I'm away from my computer at the moment, but probably an upgrade would help. I've been keeping the 8 because it is the only thing that works for another site. I guess one cannot use all the browsers in tandem, a tech secret I've been wondering about?.

      Sadly, there really isn't any way to run two versions of IE at the same time, but you can run compatibility view in 9 for legacy sites.

      It sounds like a better solution might be to try Firefox for HubPages.

      Does this occur for every comment box?
      Just some?
      Only comment boxes on certain types of content (question, forums, Hubs, etc)?

      I would love to track this down and get it sent to engineering as other people have reported something similar in the past, but I have not yet been able to reproduce the issue so our engineering team has someplace to start.

        Thanks Matthew, it's been happening recently on every comment box. Seems to get triggered when I hit the 'space' bar. Actually I've only noticed it in comments to Hubs.

          Your User Agent String is indicating two different OS/browser combos.

          Do you happen to have both a Windows Vista IE 9 and and a Windows 7 IE8 machine?  Are both having the same problem?

    I'm not at my computer today, (not happening here) guess we will have to followup when I get Home (Monday) appreciate you looking into this Matthew. I have Windows 7 at my home, but this may be Vista, not sure.

    Hi Matthew, the comment box problem seems to have fixed itself without any browser changes on my part.

      @snakelane
      I am glad to hear that the comments are jumping around on you anymore!
      Please let us know if you see this again as I think there is an issue, but it has been hard to track down and reproduce.

    On a separate note, when editing photos they jump all over the place and do not stay where I intend them to stay often disappearing yet they always appear where they were first. I have been encountering this issue for the last 4 days. I use Google Chrome.
    Any idea as to what is causing this?

      @Luis

      When you say editing photos, do your mean editing a photo capsule?
      Is it related to the position of the photos and/or capsule in the Hub?
      Looks like you are using Chrome 21 in Windows 7.

      Is this affecting all new photo capsules, only existing, or a subset?
      If related to a specific Hub, can you provide a URL so I can check it out?
