   Much of what I read on the internet, newspaper and especially social network sites like Facebook is NEGATIVE. People often see to be complaining about something. I admit there is a lot about which we can and maybe even should coplain, but I would like to start a positive flow of thoughts and words.
   
   One thing I like about where I live is: that on a short drive around town, I sometimes see the nearby hills on a backdrop of a blue sky with clouds barely touching the hilltops like a white blanket or quilt.

   The city I live in has a very low population, almost everyone is friendly, there is always a rotten apple in the bunch, and I can see for miles.

   A walk up a hill through a dark, dark forest (Borealis) and sit down above the lake - for a view of the stars and meteor shower awesome sight!

   The longest freshwater coastline in the world - fresh strawberries, corn, and all kinds of great fruits and veggies in the summer, fresh apples, fresh cider, and fresh cinnamon doughnuts in the fall.  Awesome boating, swimming, and water sports in the summer.  A gazillion trees turning a gazillion colors in the fall - all leading to a winter with diamonds sparkling on pure white snow.

   Just two reasons I am so happy I was finally able to leave big city life and flee to a small community in the Welsh valleys.

         I've been here 4.5 years now, and I never tire of looking out over the valley to the mountains and seeing how the colours change with the time of day, weather and seasons.

            That's beautiful, Writeangled. I regret leaving Wales so much. In some respects I'm lucky though, despite living in a big city my home backs on to the Medlock Vale. I'm going to take some pictures tomorrow and post them.

   The place I live isn't all that beautiful. Right now it's hot as heck and it hasn't rained in weeks. The grass and trees are turning brown.
   
   However, the people here are fabulous. We really take care of each other and watch out for each other's kids. If there is a sickness, surgery or a death in the family, or a fire in someone's home, people will come out of the woodwork to help. People will bring meal after meal, pick up your kids and whisk them off to the movies to get their minds off things, drop by with gift cards and cash cards, mow your lawn, clean your house, etc. People here completely remodeled and redecorated a home for a young woman and her small children. It was just like Exterme Makeover Home edition, but there wasn't a TV network funding it or cameras rolling. They did it with their own time and money because they are great people. Regular ol' people in the community also put together and funded a huge parade for a little girl who was leaving for Johns Hopkins to have major  brain surgery, and then a welcome home festival for her once she came home and felt up to it. There is such a sense of community here. It is awesome.

   I live in a quiet country neighborhood about 2 miles from the biggest lake in Texas. It's very peaceful and all the neighbors are nice.

    Evenings here are perfect. From April to October, you can sit outside and enjoy being outdoors and never need more than a sweater at most. Summer is best, and even the hottest, 108 degree day, turns into a delightful evening with the delta breeze picking up and making it just as pleasant as you can imagine. We live at the edge of the suburbs, and enjoy stargazing all the time. I love it.

          Nope. I think I've experienced maybe ten in my whole life, and the worst one put a crack in a patio. I've had gas that was more tectonic than the rest of them. Granted, a big one can happen at any time, but I mean, so can a natural disaster anywhere, or a gas main explosion, or a drunk crashing through your wall.
