How much of Obama's problem is about left over problems from Bush?

   One of the arguments on the Republican side is that (their argument, not mine) Obama needs to stop blaming his problems on Bush and take responsibility. To me, it is a spurious argument. It is still relevant, in any situation, the left over burden you bear and must contend with; and this one, in this nation, is pretty huge: Multiple wars causing massive economic problems, massive unemployment, more poverty, divisiveness, and so on.

      Every problem we face today is a problem inherited from the Bush presidency. While It can be argued that Obama hasn't done enough to fix those problems (something I would strongly agree with) there isn't any way to say he created any of them. People like to attack him for the deficit and debt, but they don't seem to realize that spending levels and revenues (and therefore deficits) haven't changed much from the levels that were set by Bush. Not only did the Republicans set those levels, but they then turned around and said that the only solutions they will allow are cuts to social spending--a preposterous position which essentially forces Democrats to choose between two different suicidal choices.
      
      Additionally, there are still enormous problems in the housing, financial, and energy markets, that are largely a Bush legacy as well. So too are the trillions of dollars spent on pointless and ineffective wars in the Middle East (the whole world actually) and our grossly inflated military spending levels.
      
      Republicans may have a point that Obama hasn't done enough to fix our problems, they are full of hogswallop to try and pretend that Bush wasn't a disaster. Supporting Bush 2.0 is an act of pure stupidity.

      The problems Obama has are in part what he inherited from W , but are also in part for wasting two years of his presidency when he actually had the house and senate pursuing bipartisanship and  trying to bring the republicans to the table when all they were interested in was in defeating him and his party.

         I know you are not blaming Obama for the Republicans' intrasigence.
         (Although I would not be at all surprised to see that accusation leveled against him, like everything else unde rthe sun!)
         
         I mean, you get elected POTUS. You have a job to do.
         Would you not expect that the way business has been conducted historically in Congress (including when you, yourself, served in Congress) will still apply?
         That both sides of the aisle will work together to tackle these very large-scale economic problems?
         In his worst nightmares, I can't imagine Obama could have forseen that Congress would willingly sacrifice the country just to make him a one-term president.
         
         He did blow a lot of political capital getting ACA through.
         That was huge, and I understand why he did it when he did.

            No sense crying over spilled milk, now he knows better and if he is reelected he will accomplish much more in his second term than he did in the first , which contrary to the generalized thought was a lot.And that's another thing he will be better at, self promotion and tooting his own horn.
