What does that say?

It means that Barack Obama is a massive failure...or worse.
He knows that his policies are not working, but he has no plans to change a thing. He is staying the course to the far left, as we saw in his speech to his far left base, who booed God for all to see.
And God will not be mocked.
What do you suppose all those who yelled "Hell no!" on the vote to put God back in the platform were doing?
Trying to adhere to the constitution which separates church and state.
Amendment I
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
Kind of fundamental isn't it?
Must really tick you off that at least half of the attendees wanted to prohibit the rights of the other half, you being the strict Constitutionalist you are.
Don't mock god because he's insecure enough. LOL I would of think that the ancient people who invented god would of created a stronger image. The Vikings and the Greeks did.
I think the message is clear in those numbers...move effort going into creating entitlement and dependence than into stimulating the private sector for job growth. A nation mired in big government and over-regulation is doomed to stagnation and government control of all aspects of our lives....re-elect Obama and it will only get worse. ~WB
Yeah, slow steady growth in the economy and employment. I just don't ascribe to your interpretation of them. Romney is selling snake oil by telling us the dramatic improvement he purports. This with no specifics! I have read his veiled plans and it shows only a return to Bush era policy and expecting us to believe he can do it better.
The worst thing is not the buying of the snake oil but swallowing it could be a placebo or poison. Unless you know the contents in the bottle it could be fatal for the patient.
Yes, a slow steady growth in the economy and employment. Coupled with a meteoric rise in entitlements as an unmentioned side effect.
You're being sold snake oil, all right, and it would probably be a good thing to look at the side effects of that oil. We are on the road to becoming another Greece, forever borrowing from the rest of the world to support a standard of living we can't afford.
Absolutely it could be fatal.
At the very least Chinese will be taught in our schools.
Good point. We can repay the loans by all becoming Chinese and working for them the rest of our lives.
Eight long years of lowering ourselves into the abyss created by George Bush and his endless unfunded wars and the staggering loss of life and property. So should we expect a meteoric flight out of it in four years? Impossible for even Reagan who raised taxes steadily through out his tenure. Obama had to support the middle class and make sure someone like Romney and his "business model" doesn't sell the rest of the country out as well. Romney thinks that when wall street collapsed in '07 that something different than the '29 crash and great depression is the fix.
I am not an Obama fan but this is issue is not a presidential fix by putting Romney in Obamas place. The whole system is corupt, bought and sealed to the major powers that be. Just look at the rise of gas prices which have doubled. Do you think their cost have gone up so much that they should have doubled their profits over the last few years? No the oil industry lobby is clearly against Obama and just as anytime in the past they have enjoyed such profits they only lower the price by half when they are getting their way.
Romney who spouts "We believe in America" should read "to let it fail so the corporations can scrape up the rest of the goodies". He is poison.
The battle for the presidency is strickly going on at the very top of our wealthiest participants and that is to make sure their pockets are lined substantially when all is said and done.
I certainly agree that the top of the economic pie is going to determine who is president. But why is that?
Possibly because millions of people cast votes based on what they perceive (through grossly slanted rhetoric and commentary) will give them personally? Because millions more votes are cast based on charisma or such stupidity as skin color?
The wealthy will maintain control such things until the people take back it back by learning to think rather that blindly spout what they've heard without thinking about it. I don't see that happening any time soon, and these forums show that quite clearly.
You and I are in total agreement with the health of the political system we now have. The conventions are like high school rallys we went to as kids and many words are spoken but after the campaign and the defeat or victory nothing changes.
Term limits, publicly financed campaigns and lobby reform is key to the future of the system. But the politicians fill us with all the rhetoric and non issue chatter that derays the real issues and keeps the status quo in charge.
Good comparison on the conventions - a little kids rally where everybody simply hypes everybody else in the room. Completely worthless for anything but raising the emotional status of the room. Actual information is completely lacking, either before, during and after.
Sadly, I don't see any change. People have found that they can vote themselves "bread and circuses" on somebody elses dime, and believe the empty rhetoric that it's good for the country. As long as the political system is large enough that honest politicians (if there actually are any) are overridden or unheard it isn't going to change. Maybe we need a King.
Here's a column from today's NYTimes by Christina Romer on the country's current economic situation and the road to recovery and dealing with the deficit according to "Obamanomics." Her explanation is the standard, textbook explanation taught in nearly every college economics class.

To those who keep saying Obama is a Muslim...Why does it matter? Why is being Muslim a negative thing? To those who keep getting offended when others say Obama is a Muslim...Why does it matter? Why is being Muslim a negative thing?

I'm seeing lots of comments that seem to imply most recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), previously known as the food stamp process, are lazy, lack "responsibility" and are content to live off the government. As is often the case, available facts do not...

Looks like Obama is pulling ahead in the polls, beyond the margin of error. I think the DNC gave him a nice boost!
