   Attila, Genghis Khan, and Hitler were the three most feared and satanic leaders in history.   Groups such as the Huns, Mongols, and the Wehrmacht and the SS brought fear and hatred to the lands they brutally invaded.   There were no other groups in history that were more barbaric than these groups of invaders.   These invaders instituted a barbarity which was totally unparalleled in history.   Hunnic, Mongol, Wehrmacht and SS groups ruthlessly exterminated groups of people.   They also established grisly practices and an extreme version of an eye for an eye.  Open for discussion!

      I strongly oppose your view on wehrmacht. It was Hitler and his Nazis to blame and not the German Soldiers for they did just what they should -  follow the words of their ruler. So German troops can never be called or labeled as satanic or so on. We all know uncle Stalin and his Red army did more atrocities in Berlin than what the German army did in the entire war. Reports say that Germans army committed far less rapes than any other major waring armies in the second world war. So Never again label German army as demonic or satanic. You cant blame an arrow for hitting you.. Its the bow and the bowmen whom should be blamed. Most German soldiers behaved well, and again holocaust was a crime beyond words and it was Hitler and Nazis to blame of that and not the German Army. Generals such as Rommel were considered as Great humans by even the English and Americans.
      
      But for SS/storm troopers, Huns and mongols i agree with you.

      The ancient world feared the Huns, viewing them as the ultimate in depravity.   However, the Mongols made the Huns look like choir boys regarding their intense ferocity.  The Mongols thought nothing of using people for human shields.  When they invaded Kiev in 1241 A.D. under the tutelage of Batu Khan, descendant of Genghis Khan, they devastated Kiev, laying waste to the population.  As the saying went there was no one alive to weep for the dead.  Batu's ancestor, Genghis Khan, almost decimated the entire Tartar population for childhood revenge.   
      
      Of course what the Huns and Mongols did was nothing in comparison with what the Wehrmacht and SS did in World War II, especially in the East.  Their actions in the East would make the Mongols blush.   Total destruction of villages and transporting of thousands of Belorussians, Russians, and Ukrainians into slave factories throughout the Third Reich.   
      
      The Wehrmacht and SS also had a brutal system of an eye for an eye "justice system".  If a German soldier was killed by partisans or the resistance,   thousands of civilians will be killed in retaliation e.g. the Lidice massacre and the killing of the residents of Oradour Sur Glane in France.

   Not being a Christian, I do not recognize the concept of being Satanic. With that said, each of the people mentioned are just a reflection of our own humanity, and what societies can foster. If we want to talk about legacies of brutality, we can look to other primate relatives first....specifically the chimpanzee. Where there is no god there can be no satan, but you will find the same destructiveness....cognitively carried out....in our cousins.
   
   I look at the Stanford Prison Experiment......look at what took place there, and its implications concerning "good" and "evil"..

   Maybe you overlooked George Bush and the murder and destruction he rained on various countries, his establishment of the modern concentration camp complete with torture chambers, the concept of murdering whole families by guided drone in foreign countries without declaring war - and all in full knowledge that these are atrocities, unlike thoe you mention peviously who were generally living in brutal and uneducated times.

   What about Maximilien Robespierre, Ivan IV, Vlad Tepes? Though they are not so well-known as the ones you have mentioned, still their deeds have a cruelty to be startled with.

      Yes Ivan IV a/k/a Ivan the Terrible and Vlad Tepes were not exactly pleasant folk and they come in a very very close second as to being satanic.   Ivan was a maniacal ruler who established the secret police, he ruthlessly eliminated his enemies, and killed his son!   Vlad also had personality issues, he was quite fond of impaling and terrorizing those who disagreed with him.  He was the basis of the fictional character, Count Dracula by Bram Stoker.    Also Joseph Stalin who killed over millions of Ukrainians in holomodor which was the Ukrainian Holocaust.  In addition to that, he also consigned purges of government and military staff.  He also consigned millions of people to the gulags of Siberia. However, I elected to mention Attila, Genghis Khan, and Hitler because they were evil to the multillionth degree.

      I agree, one more notorious person would be Tamerlane(nick named prince of destruction) he laid waste to most of Turkey, Persia and North eastern India. Looting, rape, killing and torture by dragging men and women from horses were a daily even during his life time.

   I can name give you another name General Tikka Khan. This guy is unknown to most.He is nicknamed as "butcher of bengal". He was a renowned army officer of Pakistan. He has proved that if he got chances he can shamed even Hitlar. In 1971 he launched "Operation Searchlight" on Eastern Pakistan (modern day Bangladesh). His score was like this: Number of civilians killed - anything between 500,000 to 3,000,000. Number of women raped: 200,000.
   Specialty of killings: Main target were the Hindu minorities. They were ordered to be killed instantly. Bengali intellectuals and high educated fellows were also his   favorite victims.

      Yes, there were many more satanic leaders than the ones I have mentioned.  A case in point is Idi Amin of Uganda.   He was a mass murderer and caused the mass exodus of Indian nationals, most of whom were highly educated, to live Uganda for elsewhere.

   Also, there was a king named Draco. He is famous for implementing first-of-a-kind written, fixed punishment system in replacement to the oral one. But besides laying a ground to written codes determined by a court, he is also notorious for imposing a harsh punishment in the situations that are taken for granted nowadays.

      What gets me is how many christians downplay this part of their history and either easily forgive it or totally dismiss it as not important. I have heard claims that it wasn't that bad blah blah blah, ask a Cathar is how I respond! (can't, they were totally wiped out!, sorta a form of genocide). At least denying the holocaust or some of the other atrocities is socially unacceptable and will get you a significant loss of respect in the eyes of most, why not with christianity?
      I have even heard that the inquisition didn't actually end, they just changed their name to Congregatio pro Doctrina Fidei (Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) and until 2005 the head of the CDF was a fellow by the name of Ratzinger.

         Very fitting for a guy who started his political, sorry I mean religious, life in the Hitler Youth.   This guy has all the hallmarks of an anti-christ if christians are looking for one.
