For the past year, I have tried at various times to get an answer to this.

    http://s1.hubimg.com/u/7160692_f248.jpg

When i go into my Adsense account, it tells me that I get an 68% share. Good and well. I don't have an issue with that. That is the agreement with hubpages.

What I do have an issue with is that Hubpages is getting 68% of my Adsense revenue from my blogs, from Hubpages, and from various other accounts I have linked to my Adsense account.

There is absolutely no way that my Adsense account specifies that the Adshare is only for hubpages, so I have to assume that hubpages has been receiving my ad revenue from my other sites as well.

Please can you verify this and if this is so, please can we rectify the situation and could you please tell me how to do this.

    thank you

I am not a staff, but I am pretty sure that the share of 60% applies to just Hubpages and that you get 100% from your Google blogs and whatever % you have with other sites.

I hope that is true, but I have always wondered about it. Also one can have more than one Adsense account and I can't help thinking that it might be because one is supposed to have one Adsense account for every blog, content site, or website one has. I've never been clear on that point, and I guess I just want to know for certain. smile

I can pretty much guarantee you that you are getting 100% from Google blogs and Hubpages does not get any of that. Its a 60/40 here. But is worth it because Hubpages searches much better than blogs.

Unless I am totally misunderstanding you, you can view 3rd party @ adsense @ Account Settings-Access and authorization-view 3rd-party access

Firstly, you can only have ONE Adsense account... in rare occasions you may have a separate Adsense for a Corporate account.  There is no need for multiple accounts since your ads are tracked via domain.

To be certain where your Adsense clicks are coming from, make sure that you use URL channels for your hubs.  You are allowed 500 url channels and 500 custom channels.  Custom channels are used to track the entire domain, url channels are used to track specific pages within those domains.

Here on HP I track my hubs with the url channels and on my blogs I only track them with custom channels and do not track individual posts.  I do this because I have over 12 blogs and it is very easy to run out of url channels it I were to track the posts.

Thank you, much appreciate the clarification. smile  Izzy told me about the channels long ago, but truthfully, I find them a bit complex for me. I can't even figure how to connect my Adsense to my Google Analytics!

Also it isnt necessary to have multiple adsense accounts for different sites. Just one is all you need. You can just associate one adsense account with all the different sites. I think you can have a business account adsense and a personal one, but Staff probably knows best on that.

      Hey, Sophia.

      All is well.

      Best explanation is by example.

The advertiser pays Google a dollar. Google gives you 68 cents and keeps the other 32 cents for themselves. HP has nothing to do with it. That is Google's split with you here, there, your blogs, everywhere.

The HP deal is separate. In that situation every time a visitor shows up at one of your hubs, a little man in the background rolls the dice. 60% of the time you win; 40% of the time HP wins. When you win, you get the 68 cents. When HP wins, they get the 68 cents.

No joke. That's how it works. Excepting for the little man being replaced by a random-odds-generator of course. Again, as to your blogs, Google pays you the 68 cents 100% of the time.

      Honest. smile

+ yes, that is a clear example.

I think Sophia may have been confused with the 68%.  That is Google's split on AdSense for content.  HP shares by a percentage of time when our affiliate code is showing, which is 60%.

Sophia, what page is your image on in your account? http://s1.hubimg.com/u/7160692_f248.jpg

If you have other sites with AdSense, you add them separately in your channels.
If you have certain hubs that do well, you can track them by adding their URL's.  You don't have to track all of them.

        Sophia,

I would suggest the term you were looking for was 'prior ill-informed and uneducated about the issue' rather than being a dumb cluck smile
