If politicians read hubpages, they could actually "learn" what the people want instead of "assuming" what the people want. Is HubPages the future of the political movement? lol

No. Most of the political stuff on HubPages is just conspiracy theories, mindless rants and wild speculation.

That is baloney Darkside. There is a mountain of evidence supporting both the housing ponzi Basel 2 off balance sheet shadow banking scam, and the 9/11 conspiracy.

For having such an analytical mind, you can disappoint. smile

Yeah, I don't know.  They might be left more confused.  But I do wish they would.

Regardless of what some of the political pundits here think, they are not the center of the universe as to their beliefs. The world is a lot bigger than the Internet.

I thought that the Internet is made of the world since every voice in the world can be seen through the Internet.

Absolutely not, they should listen to their constituents within their respective districts. That is the group of people that they were elected by to represent to the best of their ability.

They don't even represent those. They are only interested in allowing the big finance people to rule the world. They are captive of the international bankers and only give crumbs to their constituents.

Your idealism, girly-girl, is terribly misplaced.

As if politicians listen to their constituents. Blah, they listen to the members of their particular constituency party, who are clones of their own ideology, and therefore are more concerned with the party being elected than what the true policies are. Anyone with half a brain knows that politics and politicians for that matter is about deception and not true representation.

I've worked in politics up until recently so I'd have to say differently. Yes, legislators typically listen to the advice of party leadership, but - listening and voting on an issue are completely different things. Every legislator is always given lots of different advice from all sorts of angles. There are lots of elected officials who go against their party leadership because they are doing what they feel is best for the constituency.

It's not my fault everyone else is so disenchanted, I'm sorry for that, but I don't blame you. I'm not personally disenchanted, but I realize I'm in the minority.

There is deception in politics, but its not everywhere. Get involved in local level politics and get back to me then. wink

The problem is that at the local level no one really knows what is going on. Unless you happen to be the former Mayor of New York City and stated that the towers were going to come down before they did and it was caught on videotape.

Most people in the world are not on the Internet.

I would ask, are we talking American politics or another specific country?  IMHO you cannot say "world" and whether the internet would even apply to that broad political question.

        Be more specific. Please

But, what I am trying to say is you can't go on what you read on the Internet. There are a lot of people who are not interested in being online. And I find that a lot of the attitudes online are the most radical of beliefs, not necessarily what the general public believes.

"And I find that a lot of the attitudes online are the most radical of beliefs,"

This is the main reason why I think Internet is so important. Must we not hear the radical of both sides to find our true individual medium logic?

In my humble opinion, whether or not any person is interested in being online, they are still members of the general public and are entitled to their opinions , radical or otherwise.
Politicians would benefit, in my view, from reading articles and visiting forums, as there lies, the unadulterated honesty of peoples thoughts and opinions.

You can leave comments on Obama's web page, how many other leaders have a forum for their voters?

It is better to have some openings for the politicians to know what is in the minds of the people, even if they are wild and speculative. If something cant be enforced, it is speculative. Mostly all speculations are coming true since Jules Vernie.

So, the HP is not for comedy only... it may also be serious. Politicians should read HP.

I see a huge lack of faith and confidence in many. You, Us, We are all people behind the monitor and keyboard. You think politicians are "elite"? There are doctors, lawyers, and yes, there are most likely politicians already reading and writing on hubpages. The only time one's words behind the monitor will not matter is when the reader doesn't read them.
