Are there different types of impressions?

I don't get much traffic, but I'm proud of what I do get. Every morning and night I take note of the number of views to see what my numbers were. My page views are not adding up to my impressions I'm getting paid for.
From yesterday morning until last night I counted 65 views. However this morning I checked my earnings and it said I made a dime and my impressions were only 17. I've noticed this happening the last few days.
Is there a certain way they calculate views? Do some views not count? Curious.

Impressions from hubbers won't get counted for a revenue! Neither you nor any hubber visiting your hubs brings you an impression qualified for a revenue. Hope this clears you doubt!

Ad impressions will never be the same as the number of pageviews on a daily basis.  While pageviews are counted on a rolling 24 hour basis,  HP ad program reports are for each calendar day.

Some of your views will not show ads if someone clicks off the page too soon for ads to appear.
Some viewers have ads blocked which will not register impressions.
And as previously noted, HP shares 40% of the time impressions are shown.

I don't really pay too much attention to it on a daily basis, but look more on a weekly/monthly time frame.

Views from Hubbers do count.   There are several reasons why the numbers are different.

First, the views you see on your statistics page are on a rolling 24 hour period.  So unless you look at exactly the same time as the views on the earnings page are generated, you won't get the same exact number. Also since your ads are showing on your page 60% of the time, you won't get 100% credit for the views that are on the statistics page.  Note that this doesn't mean you get 60% of the views - it depends on whose ads were on the page when those viewers were on your pages.

    Read the HubPages FAQs
    http://hubpages.com/faq/#hpads-signup
also scroll down to the HubPages Ad Program and read question 6.

It notes other reasons why your impressions may be lower.  Views from HubHopper don't count since the ads don't show there.  If people are running ad blocker programs, then someone viewing your page won't get an impression of the ads. Also if they click away too fast, they won't see the ads. And if your ads are disabled, they are no ads to view.

Thank you. I understand the numbers roll. But the way I was trying to get a rough estimate was noting the difference in number within a 12 hour period. If I started with say 1000 total  views this morning and tonight my views were 1050 I would know that it increased 50 during the day.

Thank you. I think I understand better now
