   At what age do you stop following fashion and start buying for comfort?

            This is definitely not true.  Bloomingdales or Macy's herald square in manhattan has shown me that fashionable clothes have no age limit.  There's always a solution. And if you don't live in NYC or a big city, there's definitely hundreds of options on the internet to search for.
            
            Create your own trend and fashion, forget everyone else or what society says (you probably have more experience in this area with me and your own feelings on the topic, but that's just my opinion).  You are what you wear....  I believe Kanye West , when asked where he gets his style from, said his grandfather.... He tries to imitate the style his grandfather would...a man who assumable never stopped worrying about fashion, but still kept it simple.  I can't imagine a life without expressing oneself through clothes, although I understand it's the choice of some people.  And I'm not saying it's materialistic or superficial, it's just the thought and the work that goes into putting an outfit together....you can get some things from the thrift shop and still pull off a fashionable stylish, sly, look.

   Honestly, I plan to follow fashion until the day I die. I won't abandon my greatest love just because I'm 60 and wrinkling. I will maintain my wit and certainly, my style.

   Hi Brian, I think it's definitely possible to combine the two - I see that you said that fashionable clothes only go up to a certain size - this is unfortunately true for some expensive brands but there are many alternatives and I have many plus size friends and colleagues at work who look stunning without having to compromise on fashion or quality.
   
   You also asked about if there is an age limit to buying fashionable clothes - and I really do not think there is one. My grandma is 92 (will be 93 this Summer) and she is one of the most on trend people I know. I might be biased because she's family but she has always had a high interest in fashion and that has never ceased.

   Apparently the fashion convo, like fashion itself, is timeless.
   I don't know that I'm ever on-trend, but I definitely have my own personal style. I also strongly believe, thanks to my Italian Mama, in dressing for the occasion. My students are always amazed that I'm a Rammstein fan because they look at me when I'm dressed like a teacher. I like to dress up to go out, and still try to maintain a sense of style when dressing casually.
   
   I used to try to follow the trends more, but they don't all suit my body type. I hate the billowy blouses that have elastic at the bottom. I'm short and busty, so I always end up looking apple-shaped, which I'm not. That also makes buying dresses difficult, but I have certain brands (Calvin Klein -- yay for sales!) that I know do fit and some that never fit. I think that goes with the plus-size comment.
