I believe Hubpages needs to let the writer know who is moderating their article. I believe we should have a right to know and we should have a link to them so we can fully understand what they want us to change. I get an article moderated and I make appropriate changes. However, my article is still not published. Now, what can I do? I have no clue what else they want me to change. I believe they should allow us to speak with such people to clearly work out these issues. Thanks

It is impossible to read another one's mind!  If they cannot tell you the specific area of the issue, then how does one know what to fix.  I think they should at least highlight the problem area in one's hub, they believe to be a problem, so one may have at least a bit of a clue as to the issue and know how to edit the hub, without such, it is just hit and miss.  Just my opinion.

We've often talked about adding personal name signatures to each email; it's certainly not out of the question. I'll bring it up in this week's community meeting to see what the team has to say.

If it's any consolation, we're also "renovating" our moderation emails to make them more clear.

      Thanks for the suggestion! smile

        Hey thelyricwriter!

We discussed this in our community meeting today; our conclusion is to not include moderator names in emails for several reasons:
        1. You're more likely to get a fast response by replying to the team emails; moderators are not expected (or encouraged) to respond to emails sent directly to their accounts.
        2. Often there are several parties involved in the moderation process, so assigning one name to an email would often be inaccurate.
        3. This would expose our moderation team to more personal attacks (than they already have to contend with).

I do appreciate the suggestion, and hope this is an adequate explanation as to why we have decided to leave things as is. Ultimately, we think this provides the best experience for all parties involved. big_smile

I agree that giving a more detailed explanation of what's wrong would be helpful in fixing the issues. But I don't think there should be a link or a name of the moderator given. For one reason, I don't know that it is always the work of just one person. When someone flags a hub or even uses the hub hopper tools on it, that may (though I don't know for sure) be enough to generate a general message. Or it may be what alerts the moderators, the staff could give a more detailed explanation there.

But, giving a detailed explanation on each hub that has issues would be incredibly time consuming so I don't see it happening. I'm sure you could email the hubstaff and find out what specifically is wrong if you can't figure out what to fix.

That's a really great point, To Start Again. Definitely something that has led us to not use names thus far.

We are indeed doing our best to make moderation emails more clear- we agree there's plenty of room for improvement there!

It would be best if they would be specific.  You shouldn't have to try and figure out what they want.

I don't think it matters who does the moderation, only why.

Simone and others, thanks for your comments. I just want direction. I have one article that I have been trying to get republished for months, yes MONTHS. I have did all the appropriate changes but it still says I have non related links or products. All the products are gone and the links are all related. I don't know what else too do.

A common problem is links to your own stuff, either sites or hubs, that are not related to the topic.  RSS feeds are a big one, but in any case just because you wrote them doesn't make them related.

      Just a thought...

We don't have RSS feeds any more do we?

Truthfully, I don't know.  I did see one on a hub I read just a couple of days ago, but there is no capsule any more.  Maybe you can insert one manually?  Or maybe old ones are still there?
