   Why my hub url in google is appearing like the following; http://hubpages.com/hub/Basic-Terms-in-Accounting
   
   Instead of appearing like this; http://dilipchandra12.hubpages.com/hub/ … Accounting
   
   --- Almost all the hubs of mine are having the url appearing (changed) in the same lines.
   
   Here is another example: Search the following in Google --- "Top 10 Cricketers of All Time" the first result in the search is my hub. There some other url is coming instead of the following URL; http://dilipchandra12.hubpages.com/hub/ … f-All-Time
   
   
   
   My Google authorship (Picture) is also not in the search results. Hitherto it (authorship) was there but now the url was changed and the google authorship was also gone. Why it is like that, what is going on, please explain. Thank you.

      Both URL formats are valid on the site.
      We require unique URL abstracted from the subdomain.
      
      What this means is that all three of these are valid URLs for the same Hub on HubPages.com.
      http://hubpages.com/hub/Basic-Terms-in-Accounting
      http://dilipchandra12.hubpages.com/hub/ … Accounting
      http://completelymadeupnonexistenthubpa … Accounting
      Notice the 3rd address resolves to the first.
      
      You cannot establish ownership for content on hubpages.com, but can for your subdomain.
      Google is choosing to display one over the other URL.
      This does not mean that your authorship is affected for content on your HubPages subdomain.

   Also, i have noticed one more issue; In webmaster tools i can see only 86 out of 184 submitted hubs of mine are indexed. However, when i manually checked the keywords / titles of my hubs, i found almost all the hubs are appearing in the Google Search. I believe due the change in the URL, may be indexed hubs number in the webmaster tools was also changed.

      To search Google to see if a Hub is indexed, you can use a search phrase like this on Google.
      "site:dilipchandra12.hubpages.com/hub/Basic-Terms-in-Accounting"
      https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3A … Accounting

         The link you have given has the result; Your search - site:dilipchandra12.hubpages.com/hub/Basic-Terms-in-Accounting - did not match any documents. Does it mean the article is not indexed?
         
         But when am typing "Basic Terms used in Accounting" the first search result is my hub...

            That means that the Hub is indexed, but not on your subdomain.

   Google seems to vacillate in which it chooses to use. It is a pain when it chooses the one you don't have Google authorship of.

      And yet, this goes back several weeks, and nearly every one of those coming through without the subdomain have received a bump in the SERP and traffic. 
      
      I may miss the pretty picture, but won't complain about traffic, either.

   I noticed the same thing several months ago and got the same answer as Matthew has explained above. My traffic is rising again which is nice, but it would be helpful, to actually know what is really the best format for our URL's. I know they all work, but some seem to be working better and attracting more traffic than others.

      Here is a URL for a Hub in your subdomain.
      This is the format you want to use when promoting, linking, etc.

         I remember our email conversation on this topic. There is of course an advantage to be able to change titles 'on the fly' as we can, using this particular indexing method.
         The original URL remains the same but the title can be changed, as we often do when search data is available and indicates a variation on the existing title.
         This is a simple traditional root and leaf index arrangement.
         
         The difference with this thread seems to me, to be that the order in which the elements of the sub domain are being displayed.
         
         In my case, the correct view as you mentioned above would be molometer.hubpages.com/hub/whateveriwrote.htm
         
         What seems to be causing some people concern, is that their work is displaying the URL something like this.
         hubpages.com/molometer/hub/whateveriwrote.htm. This of course is also valid in terms of the root and leaf structure.
         The anomaly that many people appear to have noticed, is that traffic 'seems' to be higher on one URL format over the other. This of course could just be coincidence and requires a longer period of study.
         
         I did have the other issue mentioned here as well. i.e some of my hubs not showing up in WMT and being 410's not found. When I looked into it. I did find a website (vidgrids.com) that had copied my URL's and then somehow managed to foul them up and generated loads of these 410's and continue to do so.
         I just tried to fetch the hub in the photo it but still shows as not found?
         
         See attached example.
         
         When this happens. Traffic to these hubs plummets, obviously.

               That site I mentioned that seems to be curating other peoples videos. I noticed that when I played my videos on the site, there were no ads and the hyperlinks that point to my hubs do not work either, this is where a lot of these 404's are coming from.
               
               I think I had better send them a message (DMCA) and find out what they are up to.

            No. Each Hub is only available at 1 canonical URL on Hubpages. 
            The Hubpages.com URLs redirect to the canonical URL.

   This search title; Top 10 Cricketers of All Time (Mentioned above as well) is now have come down to third position from the one. All my high traffic hubs occupied the place one are now coming down slowly. They are not appearing in my WMT also.
   
   Is there anyway i can get the Authorship for these high performing hubs of mine and also make them appear in my WMT ?

      My hub with best traffic has gone from  page 1 to somewhere and has lost authorship. I believe, like others, that Google has messed up our money and traffic by what they are doing. I just realized that. It is listed under  hubpages.
      
      Note  5/13   It has returned to page 1 with hubpages  on it and no authorship. In Webmaster Tools, it says authorship is verified for this hub after I entered my URL. Very strange.

   It appears one cause is related to the switch to subdomains. Hubs published more than 2 years ago appear in the SERPS with topic URL description (theory yet to be confirmed) - Those after as subs - check yours out!  BUT there are recent ones as well!
