How can I give my hub a 'makeover'?

I have a hub about college fairs and tips for students, and it has always struggled with traffic, but now it seems to get not at all. (it's been up since last May 2012, and it's only reached 57 views!)
I've tried changing the title, but that hasn't helped.
What are some ways that I can re-do this hub so that it attracts more readers? Maybe the topic is too obscure?

Any tips for the 'makeover' (and ways to attract more traffic) would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

you can use social network, join groups or pages of university students and post it to them. Or join forums talking about college and students and post your hub link in a comment or a new post there.

I hope I was useful and wish you good luck smile

Yes you were! I'm going to see where I can share a link to my hub so that it can attract more people, especially students around the collage age.

After you you have taken the information from livewithrichard into account, perhaps then you should also split it into more Hubs. Just do not add 'part 1 ', 'part 2'... to the title(s).

You have chosen a topic that is heavily saturated and very competitive but I think there are a few things you might be able to do that will bring your hub into the fold.

First, I would start fresh, which means unpublishing the hub and getting it out of the Google index if it is even there... don't forget Bing and Yahoo as well.  I say this because your main keyword has very little search volume on its own.

I would claim a new URL and Title: "How-to-Pick-a-College-Tips-for-surviving-a-college-fair"   The Keywords in the URL have good search volume and beatable competition if you follow some easy steps.

Republish the content you have under the new url and title but add some more engaging capsules.  Add a poll, add a chart showing what is important to look for in a college (cost, location, accreditation, reputation, etc.)  If at all possible, create a video or write a script for a 2 minute video and hire someone from Fiverr to create it for you then publish the video on Youtube and also on your hub.

Ask a few college students about their college fair experience and use an excerpt as testimonial (if that student has a blog ask them to link to your article from their blog and share it with their friends.

Taking these steps could see your hub in the top 5 on page 1 for the above keywords in the URL

    Just my suggestions.

      livewithrichard,
thank you SO much for all your suggestions! they're very helpful. I think I have an idea of what my plan is now. I think my hub is in for a major re-vamp!

    Hi Cardia,
I have written a hub about study tips for students, how to revise etc. I have published it a few months ago and it barely gets any views! Like you, I have tried tweaking the title even researching it on the Google Keyword tool but it gets very little views a day. sad

I would say that the whole 'study tips' niche is either very saturated or is not of particular interest to anyone. It is hard to tell but I can definitely relate to you.

Simply add one word like 'new', 'different', or any other word that comes to mind.

Thanks! I'm thinking of some new, better sounding titles for the article smile

      Hi susi10,
I'll try cleaning up my article and rewriting some parts, and hopefully that'll attract some new readers.
      I get you - it's a bit discouraging hmm
      I wish you good luck!

I usually add new images and a new video and I may even add a little more content to the Hub. Make it more colorful!

Thank you for the tip! I'm going to attempt sprucing it up with some more photographs and catchier subtitles smile

    Hi Cardia (again!) smile
I have researched some titles and keywords in the Google Keyword Tool and I typed in 'study tips for students' and clicked 'Exact' on the left. The results are quite good, there are some keywords that have low competition and high monthly searches. Click here to see the full list. I am sure you will find something there!

For example, I selected the keywords 'How to study effectively'. The competition is quite low and it still gets a good 6,600 searches each month, so getting on the first page of Google will get you more traffic. big_smile

Oh, while I think of it, try 'My Blog Guest' and write a guest post on a student blog that gets good traffic. You can then link your hub to that guest post and get a lot more traffic.
