Hi, I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but I feel like I'm going cross-eyed from combing through the official help pages on Google and the forums here.

I'm a newbie to Analytics and I think I've figured out the Bounce Rate stuff and all that, but what I'm wondering is, is there a way to see what outbound links visitors are clicking on my hubs? I've looked and looked and can't find anything obvious about this question, except a page on Google that seems to suggest I have to add a link tracking code to every individual outbound link I want to be able to track, which seems inconvenient.

Squidoo users, I'm looking for something like the Clickouts info on the Dashboard Stats->Traffic tab.

Can anyone clarify this issue for me, or point me to a link that can?

    Thanks in advance!

Its hard to find for me too - I find mybloglog more useful for outbound links - tells u the exact google ad too. The free version is limited but OK for my use of it

The closet thing that I know to the "click outs" that squidoo offers are "exit pages" that google analytics keeps track of. But besides setting up javascripts on the outbound links that you want to track, I don't know of any other way.

The easiest way to streamline that process is to make a javascript that looks for external links on your pages and then attaches the link with a code that uses a unique identifier for each external link automatically for you. Yes, it is a bit more technical, but the only other way I know of and I read through the google analytics 2.0 book as well.

If you find anything else on this though please send me a message, I would be interested. Good luck!

Lissie, thanks for the suggestion! I'll check that service out.

risend, alas, I am not nearly good enough at coding to do something like you suggest (CSS and PHP includes are about as fancy as I get without tutorials that are longer than the code) but that sounds like a very useful script and I will definitely keep an eye open to see if anyone else has done anything of the kind.

    Marisa Wright, hee!
