Over the weekend one of my hubs had a significant amount of pins/repins.
Now I realize that each pin doesn't translate into a view of the hub because not everyone that pins actually goes to the link, but usually when I get a fair amount of repins, especially this many, my views go up by a nice little chunk for a day or two.
When I checked my stats this morning, it only shows a very few views over the last 24 hours and it looks like the stats were updated overnight.
Just wondering if there is any problem with pinterest stats. Thanks.
I've noticed this, too, Glimmer Twin Fan. Everyone who pins an article doesn't necessarily follow the link to the article. Sometimes people, me included, are simply drawn to a photo and "collect" it for their boards. So, one of your hubs could be pinned hundreds of times but actually viewed much less than that.
I know that, but usually a couple hundred repins translates into more than 5 views for me. Oh well, back to my summer slump. Hope you are well and your garden is thriving. It's been a good summer for some of my things, but not so great for others. It's been really wet in my area and some of my flowers don't like that.
Oops! Sorry. I misunderstood you. My Pinterest views are never high, even for articles that have been pinned a lot. Maybe there is a delay in reporting views.
Was it on an MFP image? These usually have a much higher CTR.
If it was on a hub with an MFP, it's possible that they pinned an image further down which had nothing on it to encourage clicks?
No, but the majority of my traffic is from pinterest so I keep an eye on my stats, especially when I have a surge on one of my pins, and I have never had such a large difference between a number of repins on pinterest and number of views on my stats page.
I guess I haven't had enough pins or repins to even be in this conversation. I really haven't seen any difference in my pinned hubs...no more views no unusual activity, but I pin away anyway.
When I added to pinterest, my earnings plummeted *quickly*. When I removed what I had uploaded, they went back to normal.
No idea on the views thing.
Most of the time we are just pinning pins for the sake of our own pins so that we dont appear like spammers there, hardly we open a lot of pins. That is why it so happens, But not always
I have one hub that gets more views from Pinterest than from Google. It is because of a massive pin sharing that has been going on for some time. I should say "pins" sharing as there are numerous photos on the hub that are being picked up on Pinterest. I have place a few, but others have shared a lot from HP there as well from what I can see. Today, this is my highest viewed hub, with hardly any views from Google, the views are Pinterest and the stats reflect that.
Total views:
pinterest.com: 3183
google.com: 308
There are other misc. views included, but no need to list them.
Has anyone had issues with less earnings since using pinterest? I was really enjoying using it but when the earnings went down i pulled out. I was getting a lot of sharing by other people.
When they are viewing from Pinterest, doesn't it take away that google click that earns money?
The Google click, to the best of my understanding is when someone clicks on a Google Ad...that is where the money is to be made. Never thought about getting paid if the click comes in from Google search. You may have a valid point here. Hopefully someone can answer it with more knowledge.
I've been posting my chizz on Pinterest for over a year and so far it's amounted to doodly squat in terms of traffic to my Hubs. Nowadays I do it more out of habit than out of expecting to get anything out of it.
I believe it means "Made For Pinterest" images, i.e. special custom pictures/images to be used exclusively on that site. In other words... if you create an eye catching graphic for your Hub, Pinterest peeps will be drawn to click on it and check out your page
...which is a nice idea if you have any skills whatsoever in the graphic-arts area, but I don't.
Awe Freddy. Ill make u a picture in PS. What do you want?
Meh, I don't worry about it. The stuff I write about doesn't exactly lend itself to such things. I mainly use pix of album covers and movie posters, DVD covers, etc.

I truly don't get it. It's a whole lot of pretty pictures. How does posting our articles to pinterest get them read?

Wow! Something amazing has happened over night! Nearly all my hubs have red up arrows next to them. Ones that were getting 200 views a day have gone up to 700 views. My normal range of page views in a day for all my hubs is around 800, now the figure is 2,400! I'm very happy about this but is it a...

There is a huge disparity between my Hub stats and my stats in Google Analytics. Hub stats shows me getting 300+ page views per day. Google shows about 20 per day. This disparity started around one month ago. I've been on Hubpages 5 years and never seen anything like this except for the...
