I have had 11 hubs unfeatured last night. I have never had one that changing a letter or two would not refeature. These are saying that the hubs do not have any pictures. One of them had two, I added two more and it is still saying I have no pictures on them. HELP.
Oh no, Becky, I would love to know why this happened to you, and hope that there is someone in the know as to this question. I am trying to stay up on things here on HP, but things are rapidly changing and with my busy work week, I sometimes or most times fall behind. Do you know if they were "legal" images and not possibly copyrighted? I wonder if HP will just removed those now. I am going to follow this forum as I would love to know, and I am sorry I do not have an answer.
I would dispute it Becky. I recently had a hub un-featured because it included a link to a poem I wrote. The moderator said the poem didn't relate to the hub. I challenged him by stating that obviously he didn't read the hub or the poem because they absolutely related to each other (why else would I have included the poem???). The next day the hub was featured.
Hi Becky,
Could you post a link to the Hub you're having this problem with? I'll look into it.
Becky, I don't see anything on your hub listing a license or permission to use those photos. You do realize they are copyrighted, just as everything else on the web is, and that you must have specific permission to reproduce them?
Could that be the problem?
I have permission to use them from the owners of the photos. It is in an email from them.
Then that information should be listed in the photo capsule. "Reprinted with permission from XXX" maybe, or something like that. Regardless of the facts, the appearance is that they are stolen, and with such an obvious "theft" HP might take offense. A simple declaration that you have permission to use them just might make all the difference.
At the same time, as I mentioned earlier, they really aren't high quality photos, enough that they can be blown up to the size used in a photo capsule. They look fuzzy and pixelated and is more likely the cause HP is dissatisfied with them. They are intended to be used as little more than a thumbnail, and when blown up to capsule size they just don't look good.
These have been featured for a year and no problems with pixelation. They do not even show up as being pictures at all.
On HubPages, just because something has been published for a year does NOT mean it's been approved before. It just means the moderators haven't noticed it until now. There are thousands of Hubs being published constantly, and problems can often go undetected for months.
When you copy photos and display them larger than the original, they will always look pixelated. Pixelated images can get your Hub unpublished, so you're lucky they only unFeatured them, frankly.
Make sure you always display the photo at the same size or smaller than the original.
Hi Becky,
The Good News: It looks like your Hubs are currently Featured and Pending, respectively.
The Bad News: The Style Tips you're getting about not having any images are because your images are pixelated. Photos need to be at least 200 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall to display properly. If you choose larger photos, those warnings will go away.
Hope that helps!
Thank you. I made them smaller but it didn't seem to do any good. That is when I called for help.
If this helps at all, a large picture can be made smaller and the quality will still be great, but if you try to make a small picture larger, the quality will be bad. Profile pictures are small to start with, so enlarging them to fit in a Hub results in blurriness and pixelation.
If a picture isn't a high enough pixel count, or if it is clipart, it doesn't register as a picture. Maybe that is what is happening?
These are pictures of hubpages writers that I have written about. They are good enough for a profile, so they should be good enough for a hub about the writer.
rebthomas may be correct; I looked at several that are still there and they are not of very high quality. The problem is that a profile picture is pretty small, small than in the hub, and it shows in the hub as being a low pixel count.
Many weird things going on...I was just abruptly banned from the Ad Program for no reason. I've been on the site for over two years with no issues. Then the other day BOOM and email stating I was being terminated from the program for activity prohibited by terms of service. I write mainly book review Hubs and have several ways of driving traffic to the site. They refuse to give me an exact reason. Very frustrating and feels a little petty.
That has happened more frequently than you think, and by people of impeccable character that I know.
Just from glancing at your list of Hubs, I'd have to guess that having content that was mature/adult (those sexually-charged books you've chosen to write about) and gambling was what did it. Both of those are explicitly spelled out as no-nos in the HubPages and AdSense user agreements.
I don't know the image issue, but on the second hub you have posted, there may be too many links (16) going to the same subdomain. And there's one small photo.
Could you copy and paste in the exact message you are getting? Because nothing says a hub must have pictures.
I think some of my unfeatured's also have probs with pics. Have to take a look. Odd if you add more pics nothing happens.

Lately, I have had 11 hubs unfeatured due to Quality Issues. I have assured my hubs do not contain grammatical or spelling errors. I have included relevant video and changed the titles and added new supporting texts and all this to no avail. The HubPages Staff continues to deem my hubs do not...

Lately I have noticed how most of my articles that have been there for a long time, are being marked as not featured. And even after trying to "fix" them they are placed in the same stage over and over again. Considering the kind of "pay" we get for our effort, it seems kind of...

I am just curious, all 92 hubs of mine are featured. In your opinion, should one delete (although Featured) any hubs where the score on a particular hub has eventually dropped way down from when it was initially high at one point? Or would it be better to just unpublish and later...

For some unspecified reason, HubPages has chosen not to feature what I believe to be one of the bestHubs I have written. After learning that HubPages was not going to feature it without editing, I added a poll to see if that would do the trick. No success. It really would be nice if the...
