I published a Hub 2 years ago.
And ever since it has had a small average of hits. But now in the past 2 days it has had half the hits that it has ever had.
I'm obviously very happy but curious about the sudden explosion for no apparent reason.
How many other folk have experienced this and what's the reason do you think?
I think it's a combination of a Hub aging and getting crawled and indexed and the somewhat unpredictable nature of what people search for. In other words, it's had time to gain traction and also, for whatever reason, people are searching the keywords in that Hub. Educated guess. But it seems reasonable to me.
I'm totally curious why Nate. I guess you just can't predict these things.
Check your traffic sources. I had a small surge recently on one of my hubs, and it looks like it was coming from yahoo mail. I am guessing someone shared a link to my hub when they were discussing something. Hopefully they were saying good things!
Unfortunately, this type of surge is only temporary.
Yep. Fell off the cliff on day 3. The word 'plummet' springs to mind. But it was nice while it lasted.
Message boards often account for that kind of traffic surge too. Some kind soul posted a link to my article on Nitromater.com with a "hey, I like this" and nothing more... resulted in over 500 hits in two days. I wanted to send them a thank you card *lol*

I have been working on a hub that I used to have on another site on the internet, and published ok, so that is not an issue, but when I went back to it early this morning, I was working on completing a new article and there was a big void below my content and then some empty text, code and photo...

Hi, allFirstly, I am not going to link to the Hubs I am questioning here or attempt to promote them in any way - I genuinely do have a major query that I hope you can help me with.In the last forty-eight hours or so, I have seen a massive traffic surge on two very closely related Hubs (in terms of...

Hi there,On Monday I had 75 hubs unfeatured. I edited them and promoted them so they're fine now.But the problem is that, although some had low traffic, others had plenty. Marisa in another forum suggested that maybe the redirects aren't counted towards the engagement tally? This makes sense as...

At the beginning of December my traffic was down by around 60%. My hubs were in the same position in the SERPs as they had been previously, so the whole situation was rather odd. Today however, my traffic is up to pre December levels and climbing. Anyone else experiencing a surge in traffic?

Well, I very happy and totally confused at the same time. I have been here just two months, posted 50+ hubs, and well was expecting a slow start and build up of traffic, which was true until last Monday, when one of my Hubs went crazy. It went from about 300 hits to a massive 20,000 in...
