One of my hubs was getting decent traffic and was featured. But I have tried to update it and after that it has become red with "needs revision" and also ads are blocked I don't know why. I have tried to make certain changes and the result is the same.

Can anybody help me by checking this hub? What is wrong with it? Why the ad is also disabled?

I cannot think of the word but if you do not watch the ads they may be appearing too '?-?' (ex.- may be selling guns or getting too sexy) Those are just examples because as I said I cannot remember the proper word at this time. That may be the revision - delete those ads if you see any.
P.S. - I could not check out the Hub because it was 'No longer published'

But this is a technical hub, about a mobile phone. There is no sexual content or anything about a gun on it. If you consider Motorola Droid 2 phone as a dangerous grenade then it is a different matter though.

I said that those were only 'samples', the 'proper' word which I was looking for escaped me. What I was trying to say is that ads can be tricky - you have to keep an eye on them or they can sneak in something which may not be allowed, either by HP or else by Google. Check the ads and see if there are any which may have the "slightest" flaw in them to make them not allowed.

Undo the changes you last made and re-submit your hub again for publication. The hub will be reviewed and re-published. Make sure you don't put up too many ads. Don't make it look too fancy as well

This from a person who lost his Adsense account for posting similar material.

Does my answer offend you? Since I learnt from this dreadful experience I am trying to help fellow hubbers here.

Learning from you experience would mean telling OP *not* to post this kind of material.  Not continuing to post it.  If s/he does that the result will be what it was for you: loss of adsense account.

Did I tell OP to post the same content? Maybe you should learn to read and understand English

"Undo the changes you last made and re-submit your hub again for publication."

With or without changes the hub is about rooting.  Rooting an android phone without permission is generally considered to be illegal.  The hub was rejected for this reason.

If you didn't get it, OP updated the hub and then Hubpages gave the notification "needs revision". If OP removes the changes on the hub, OP will return to the original featured hub.

The changes triggered the inspection.  But the problem was not the changes, it was the hub topic.

Your hub is about something that may or may not be legal, depending on who you ask -- and something that pisses off large companies. http://appshappens.com/rooting-android- … d-to-know/

So... I don't think this is a mystery. Advertisers don't like controversy.

I guess it would be no harm if I ask a similar question here. I posted a hub this morning about Cannibal Holocaust, a 1980 horror film. When I got home a while ago, I saw it was "Not Featured - Quality". However, to be honest, I can't see what is different in the quality of the writing when compared to my other 28 hubs, all of which are featured. Can anyone help me? Was it the subject of the hub, being about a reviled horror film? Was it the pictures?

The typo in the title might not be helping (it should be its)

Fixed! Thanks. Then again, I've seen worse typos on featured articles.

Do you think the subject "rooting" can cause the disabling of ads? But I don't think it is illegal. The manufacturers have no problem with it. May be the carrier companies do not like the idea.

Since rooting is hacking, the answer is yes.

You wrote a hub on rooting and had no idea it meant hacking? Then how do you know how to root a phone? This is so strange.

  6. profile image0
    Ronnytronposted 10 years ago

It's illegal because It's hacking! or may be there are some keywords which are identified by automatic filters as illegal. Do you have hacking or related terms in your hub??

    1. androidfan profile image64
androidfanposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Nope.. there is a message telling me that it is done by human review and not by any automatic tool.

I have seen some published rooting articles on HP before. I think you should email the staff politely asking them for specific reason. I am sure they'll reply.

I have emailed them politely half an hour ago and now waiting for their help. Mutual help is essential for growth, is not it.

You need to choose one account to use on the forums.  Using multiple accounts is a no-no.

On the same forum, right? I don't use multiple acc on same forums. Is that allowed?

What she means is that use one account in the forums. If you logged into the forums with this account then you cannot use the other in any of the other forums. One account for all the forums will prevent confusion.

            Thanks! I'll stop doing that.
The staff won't ban me for what I have already done, will they?
            From the FAQ
            - Please stick to a persona in the Forums; using more the one account to post in the same Forum thread is not allowed.

This means I haven't broken the rules, right?
