Just a suggestion. The add → text which appears in the description field has appeared on my hub summaries, even though I have put text in. This involves me having to go back and edit all the hubs again. Is it possible to make add → text disappear as soon as something is written in the field?
I'm not exactly sure what you are asking about.
Are you talking about a style tip?
I have never seen 'add --> text' (?? ).
Can you not just delete it in the first place to save having to going back?
So are you talking about the default text in a specific Hub template that you are using?
Let me see if I understand: You are creating a new Hub and add text, but you are stating that the original and not your edited text is being saved and displayed. Is this accurate?
If so, can you provide a URL for the specific Hub. We can then see if we can reproduce the issue. Is it only a specific type of capsule?
Hi, sorry for the confusion.
What I meant is that when you create a new hub, in the summary field, the "add text part" is in there initially, even though you can't see it. When I copy and paste text into the box, sometimes it seems to add a space after the "add text" and then insert my summary. What this means is that there is "add text" automatically added to the start of any copied/pasted summary text I put in. Usually you can't see it at all unless you save the article (published or unpublished). To delete it, I need to manually edit the hub, scroll back up in the summary box and get rid of it.
This doesn't always happen, out of about 10 hubs, 4 of them had it happen.
I was copying and pasting the summary from Word, but "add text" was not in my content in Word at all and since I had some previously formatted + fresh formatted pages, I'm pretty sure it's not hidden Word coding.
I only noticed it by accident when the "add text" was added to the summary of some of my hubs.
I thought that it wasn't really a big deal, unless you consider that if thousands of other people did what I did (copy and paste text) and if they didn't notice it, you'd get thousands of hubs with "add text" in their summaries and this might possibly affect SEO...
I would suggest using CTRL-A to select all the text in the field when you use it and then paste all your text over the selection. This should then remove all the old content even if you are not seeing it easily.
I use Word w/copy-paste all of the time and I never saw that but I do not use the templates for new Hubs if that is what you are doing.
Hi Examiner, I used the basic template only.
I just delete that when I start a Hub which is probably why I never saw
"add --> text".
It's not really a big deal for me, but I thought that it could pollute lots of hubs where people didn't realise it was left in their hubs.
PS - I only used the basic article template for all of mine which did this.

So .... I was just flagged for a hub I wrote last night. It was flagged as a duplicate.I didn't even cite anything in this hub. I quoted a bunch of stuff in my Anaconda piece and none of it was flagged as duplicate, so someone must have copied and pasted my new hub. Everything on...

Boy, now I'm really confused. Our hub summaries (just under the title) are supposed to be what shows up as a description in Google searches, right? So I just launched a new hub. It's reading a 94 hubscore right now and is not an Editor's Choice (yet). Here is what my summary says:"When it...

Anyone noticed Hubs changes & limited summary characters permitted?Looks like Hub pages has made some more changes and now have reduced the amount of letters you can use in the summary of your hubs. is this good or bad?
