Google Analytics Code to Support Display Advertising

   Is Hubpages going to be keeping up with the changes to Analytics?
   
   For example:
   Analytics has a new feature in which you can observe your traffic's interests. Knowing your traffics's interests allows you to cater to them more; you can adapt your content, videos, images, Q & A, offerings and even affiliate capsules to give them more during their visit.
   
   However, this feature CANNOT be used until there is a change made to the Analytics tracking code. We, as simple members, are not able to change this tracking code.
   
   Is this going to be addressed? Or not? Does anyone know?

         It most definitely would be! For many of us, that would mean we could adapt our wording to the level of the readers (younger crowds, older crowds, students, parents, etc), change our amazon capsules to products that relate to the readers (even just basic products, such as hair care, pet food, and clothing), and even country or city specific information that applies to those crowds. I found ZERO information on this on hubpages, so I thought I would bring it to the attention of the moderators AND writers

         If you yourself have an analytics account, please go into it. You'll see an option on the left hand side that says demographics (it's able to display information about a visitors interests, their age, their sex, etc etc). In order to activate this feature, a change needs to be made to the tracking code that is implemented into the site. I could only assume hubpages would have to not only offer the option to support this feature, but ALSO offer the ability for a hubber to insert this altered tracking code somehow. If this doesn't make sense, please go and check this out in your personal analytics account to see what I mean by altering the tracking code. Thanks for looking into it, it would be a HUGE help for all hubbers if this is possible

            Thanks for the info.  I looked into it and collected documentation and have forwarded to to our engineering teak to see if we can easily implement the needed changes.

         Thank you! And it may not necessarily help to gain viewers directly, BUT it can indirectly. For example, if you have a hub with a recipe, and you go to analytics to see detailed information regarding your visitors' ages and interests, it can help you to create new hubs that cater to them. For example: let's say that the people who view your recipe hub are mainly 25 year old mothers with a lack of experience in cooking, who are interested in learning to cook  and home care tricks. This would allow you to create hubs catering to their interests, DRASTICALLY improving bounce rate, viewer retention, and visit duration. This will help hubpages overall too if hubbers use that information in their hubs. It can overall help the PR of Hubpages and increase the weight of each hubber's personal subdomain

   Hi Angry Elf!
   I completely agree with you, I was just going to make  a thread on this. I would love to have this feature enabled so we can see what kind of audiences we are targeting and this will decrease bounce rate, create more SEO friendly content etc. This will really increase quality content on HP and will get more traffic in the long run.
   
   To enable this, I am sure that HubPages has to make a change to their Google Analytics code, it is a simple one line piece of code that will enable this. Here is a link with more info:

      Yes I've been waiting for two weeks for an answer and finally one last night LOL. Maybe this will happen; it's a very powerful feature, and many hubbers have yet to realize just how powerful it is!

      The request has been forwarded to our engineering team to be assessed and prioritized as a possible future project.  If we decide to implement this feature, it may take some time to do so.
