eBay has stopped giving us revenue for placing their ads on our hubs. They have stopped it since last October. Till then we were receiving some money from them. Since they have stopped payment, a lot of hubbers either removed eBay ads from their hubs or stopped the practice of placing the ads on newly published hubs. I hope they may change their policy in future and hence haven't removed eBay ads. But I haven't placed any ads related to eBay recently. Should we continue placing eBay ads again on our hubs or stop it? Can anyone give some valuable advice on this matter please?
There's already a discussion here http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/119210 Please refer to this forum.
So this means that we were being paid just for having these ads on our Hubs? I did not know this. I also did not know that they stopped this in October.
eBay changed their earnings model on October 1, 2012. They gave a lot of notice that this change was coming before it happened. It works the same as Amazon now: you only earn when a genuine purchase is made.
As Relache says they only pay when a sale is made, but with the caveats that the sale must occur within 24 hours of the bid being made while Amazon pays per sale regardless of when it takes place. At least that is my understanding on the new eBay procedure.
Not quite.
On Amazon, if someone puts the item in their cart within 24 hours, you'll get paid, provided they buy before their cart expires. That can be up to 90 days.
On eBay, your buyer must bid within 24 hours, even if the auction has days left to run. If they just watch the item instead - even if they ultimately buy the product - you'll get nothing.
So you can see, even though both sites say they have a "24 hour cookie", they work very differently, and the odds of making an eBay sale are lower because of that difference.
I assume if a buyer buys an item with 'Buy It Now' it works the same as an Amazon purchase?
Almost. There's no facility on eBay to "add to cart", as there is on Amazon - so the sale has to be completed within 24 hours.
On Amazon, so long as the person puts the item in their cart within 24 hours, you can still get credit for the sale, provided they come back and complete the purchase before the cart expires.
Please advise regarding placement of eBay ads on hubs. Should we stop it or continue again hoping they will change their policy in future. Your advice will be appreciated.
That's your decision based on the information I've given.

I have noticed the last 3-4 months that I have no Ebay earnings. This is unusual. Usually I have a nominal amount listed each month, even if there are no sales. We still get paid on referrals from our hubs, right? Any ideas?

When was the last time you earned anything from placing an e-Bay Ad?I sometimes wonder why I bother placing e-Bay ads on my Hubs.. In the two years I have been writing here, I have never received one dime, Is it as likely as my landing on the moon?

eBay is changing its affiliate scheme in October and there is one HUGE change which has been sneaked in.Their cookie is now a 24-hour cookie, same as Amazon. For Hubbers, that makes eBay effectively worthless and I strongly recommend you remove your eBay capsules! Amazon will now be a...

The Googlebot visits new hubs within 30-60 minutes while they are in 'Pending' mode and the NOINDEX tag is in place for 24 Hours. This means that the bot does not index the page, and does not return for days or weeks. New pages do not get indexed for days or weeks. This causes lost traffic and lost...

I'm trying to sign up for the earnings programs and can't because I don't have a Google AdSense account. I applied for one a few days ago but was rejected due to "insufficient content". (My account has 106 hubs, some of which do look sparse after the import.)While I'm...
