My first 2000 word hub

   Over the past several months I've been putting a lot of time into updating my hubs, so they are all now between 700 and 1500 words long, and the are as up to date, well written and informative as I can personally make them at this moment in time. They also have specifically chosen and researched Amazon products on them, and most of them have a poll.
   
   However I've been reading a lot of comments about how longer hubs do better, so I just published a new hub with 2100 words. It's also in a slightly different niche - still health and fitness, but focused on kids fitness. So I'd love to hear what some of you think about it, and it will be interesting to see how this does compared to my other hubs.
   
   And if anyone has any suggestions as to how I might improve it (or my other hubs) further I'd be happy to hear from you. Thanks in advance.

      From what I heard lately, the longer the hubs, the better in Google's robot eyes. However, I think it depends on the topic, and on the audience you are writing for. Some topics are suited for longer articles with lots of explanations or information. Others are just better with fewer words and more pictures and videos. Just remember that the average internet reader is, in fact, just a browser, and would only stop and read the whole article only if he/she finds exactly what he/she's looking for.

         Yes I see your point cameciob. I will rarely read a long article, unless it's exactly what I've been looking for as you say, so that makes sense. And I've been thinking of trying to make more use of videos on my hubs as well.

      Bigger is definitely better for this kind of hub, you can even expand it with additional five, ten, who knows how many games. It will be helpful to watch how much traffic you can get and what keywords may work for you.
      
      You mentioned possible improvements. I would definitely add more graphics to 'break' longer blocks of text.. If not photos, a video or two can do the trick.

         Hi Tolovaj. Thanks for that. I'll look for some more videos to add to it. Maybe I should not have had the hopscotch video in the side panel, but I always think it's best not to stop the flow of text, but rather to break it up with headings. But maybe I'm wrong.

   Not trying to be mean, just a thought...  In the first two lines of your forum post there is a typo (the line reads "and the are as up to date, well written..." the "the" in the sentence should be a "they."  Personally I too am going back through and revising all of my previous hubs (I wrote some right after brain surgery and it is actually interesting to see how my mind was processing at the time, but I am updating to make it relevant and understandable.)  One of the things I have found most helpful is to read the full posting out loud to myself.  It sounds a little corny but I have found MANY errors that way.

      Lol; yes you are right. It's just a typing error that I overlooked in my forum post. I'm sure my hubs don't have any now. But then I could be wrong. Sorry to hear about your brain surgery. Are you ok now?

      Updating hubs does give an increase in traffic, so it's worth doing occasionally.

      Although I'd not heard that, from my experience it seems to be true. Not sure why but I would agree with spacing out your updates.

   Well done - I hope it does well for you!
   
   I'm one of those who have noticed my longer hubs doing better on average, particularly those of 2000 words or longer - but I also know that it is hard work to make a hub that long without sacrificing quality so you should be proud of yourself for that one. I like the way its split into 20 small sections, which keeps it readable and nice looking even though its so long.
