Requests feature: do it serve the purpose it has been created for?

   I don't know exactly but I guess that request feature at hubpages is for creation of some valuable pages. Many requests need only one or two sentence replies. However there is no provision to answer such requests without creating a complete hub and for this one has to expand the topic unnecessary. In my opinion there should be some provision to reply such requests without creating full hub.

   I think that there are lots of ways to write a good hub answering a topic that seems specific without making a hub that is too short.  None of the requests currently up on the first page are easily answered in one or two sentences.

   It does vary, but I agree there have been plenty of requests that have invited single-paragraph replies.  There was another thread complaining about this recently.  I must admit I've given up looking at them for that reason - so maybe things have improved since.

   When you make a Hub Request, there is a message that reads
   
   
   
   It's clear that many people making requests either don't read this message or they ignore it.  I think requests should be reviewed prior to going live as so many of them don't follow these guidelines and are inappropriate.  It's also apparent that some requesters are just trying to make sure they are listed as one of the top five people who make requests in the newsletter and continually submit really inane requests.

   prior review is a good idea and if  some limitations like request/hubber/day or per month etc. may also help have some really good requests. I repeatedly found several requests made by a single hubbers in a row.

   Maybe we could have someone moderate the requests and compare them with the stated criteria - then if someone posts something that is ... er ... low quality, we can hide it and ask them to fix it and resubmit.
   
   Perhaps a certain group of Hubbers could have the power to take requests off the list for "improvement" to meet the guidelines?

   I can understand the HubPages team can't spare the time to review every request before it's posted.
   
   Could a limit be put on the number of requests a Hubber can make at any one time?
   
   Or perhaps we could have the ability to flag requests? 
   
   Maybe requests could only be posted by people who have got past the Prodigy stage or have over a certain Hub score? (which suggests they understand what Hubbing is about)

   Yes, someone with more than 20 Hubs and a Hubber score over 75, for example.
   
   There is the occasional obvious exception, like Misha - maybe 1000 forum posts could excuse you from the 20 Hubs requirement .... LOL

    I fully agree that something needs to be done. I have seen 5 or 6 really idiotic requests in a row from the same hubber. Most of the time they have 0 to 3 hubs (and some of those are spam). I think people tend to believe it is like Yahoo Answers where you get points for each questin or answer you post. While any activity can help your score in HP, they simply don't try to learn the rules before they post.
    These are great ideas to have a limitation on number of requests per day or to reach a certain level before getting the priviledge. I particularly like the latter best but anything would help at this point.
