   Fame is oftentimes the be and end all in American culture and society.  Now more than ever, television and media personalities abound.  Many young people want nothing more than to be famous.  After all, fame has its myriad advantages.   When you're famous, you are in fact SOMEBODY, above and far from the masses, crowds, the average Joes and Josephinas. 
   
   When you're famous, you are idolized, worshipped.   You have access to things and privileges that very, very few people have.  In essence, when you're famous, you have CLOUT in one fashion or another.   Fame is that powerful elixir which only a small percentage of people will even attain and achieve!   Fame is popularity multiplied to the millionth degree.  What are YOUR thoughts on FAME?

      Having fans requires serving them. They become your master. You won't dare do anything to upset THEM!

      Fame is NEVER a nuisance.  Fame is glorious.  Fame opens doors and grant advantages that an average person NEVER can nor will have.  Fame is a GOOD and GREAT thing!

               Pffph love.  Love does not open doors nor opportunities.  Love is just a platitude.  Fame is far more important than love!  There's NOTHING wrong with fame at all.

                  What does fame get you that you can't get without it?  The chance to eat at the right restaurants, be seen with the right people?  Have every move you make recorded and catalogued for a world that's out making all the same moves and doesn't have time to check in on you every minute?  The opportunity to spend your whole life begging for everyone's eyes and thoughts to be on YOU and then the chance to punch out photographers or reporters who follow you around?  Want the world's attention?  Well, you got it, and have no right whatsoever to bitch.  See a camera?  Smile and wave.  It's what you've always wanted.
                  
                  Fame is useless at the end of the day. 
                  
                  IMO.

                     What people fail to realize is that fame equals power.  Fame can be used for the greater good.  Fame can be used to champion rightful causes.   Fame gives one more creditibility and influence- and who does not want influence and creditibility.   The more famous one is, the more creditibility he/she has to change society and the world.  If one is not famous, who is going to take heed or pay attention to what he/she says?

                           We ALL have power whether we wish to realize it or not.   Some people chose to OWN their lives while others simply wished to OWNED and give THEIR power away to more authoritative and stronger people, no doubt about it!

                              Of course. Humans are a hierarchal species. Like packs of wolves or lions, or horses. I personally don't have to be the top dog to live a happy life. I certainly trade my "power" for the stress-free place in the middle. With power comes responsiblility and stress I don't need, want, or am capable of dealing with. Let Obama and his ilk scabble for a place at the top. I'll pass.

                        See, my take on it is that the power fame brings is as fleeting as fame itself.  And beyond being seen and being able to throw money at a problem, there are a million ways to impact the world for the better that will ultimately leave a far longer lasting impression.  Pet causes are great, and being a celebrity who can bring attention to them is wonderful...but what happens when the lights go down and you're not famous anymore?  You turn into just one more schlub like everyone else wondering why the money you gave to starving kids in Africa seems to have made no impression at all.  Children are still starving.  People are still dying of cancer.  But you sure look good, because you championed those causes-while the folks out there building wells, providing free medical treatment, researching cures are still doing what they did before-and NO ONE knows who they are, and likely never will.  So, has that fame created any REAL power?  And would you give it up anytime soon to do what those folks do?  In the dark, with no cameras on, and with the certainty that no one in the world will ever know their name?

            NO, DEAD SERIOUS!  Go for fame if ONE IS BRAVE AND FIERCE ENOUGH.   FAME is for the SMART and BRAVE.   It isn't for the ORDINARY who prefer to lead desolate, gray lives.
