Is there a way to block an ip from commenting on my hubs?

   Today out of a sudden, some crazy person began to comment on my most popular hub multiple times within short few minutes, and the contents are all meaningless and some are quite long.
   
   Is there a way to block someone from commenting on my hubs?

      I got these long meaningless comments for a while.  I put all my hubs on comment moderation and reported and deleted the comments when I got them. While it is frustrating while it is happening, they do go away eventually.

      As several people have mentioned, if you edit the comments capsule there are a few options.
      
      I would suggest enabling the following.
      -Comments must be approved before they appear
      -Only signed-in users may post comments
      
      If they are SPAM, please mark them as such. It helps our system identify this and other SPAM content.
      You can approve the comments you wish to see and they will show on your Hub only once you have approved them.

   Can't you simply not approve the comments?  Is it not possible to mark a comment as a spam?

      deleting one or two is not a problem, but deleting many is headache, the worst part is that you can't control someone from keep commenting, no time to waste on crazy stuff like this one, I have better things to do.
      
      The bad part is, comments are actually viewable to public even they are not approved, meaning you have to watch out for bad comments closely.
      
      Marking a comment as spam was available before, but now the only option is delete. Not sure why hubpages took away this spam marking feature.

   Yes, it is possible to stop it. Most probably you might have got these comments from a guest visitor. If so, please, go to your account page, and in the second line you will find 'comments'. Go to 'show settings', then there are four options. Exercise the one you want. If it was a guest visitor then 'Only signed-in users may post comments' option will be the right one for you. You may also try other options as per your requirement.
   
   I faced this problem once and one of the Hubbers guided me on this. Best of Hubbing.

   do not approve the guy! You can report hubpages, they will take care of the miscreant.
