Hi everyone,
I am new here. I did sign up almost two years ago but didn't do anything with it until a few days ago. This place is pretty awesome and I wish I hadn't waited so long to start writing hubs.
I was curious how often everyone writes new hubs? Do you try to write one a day, one a week? Thanks!
Hi Julie. I signed up 3 months ago but guess I've just been afraid to jump in. I started a hub, but never finished it.
You should go for it I too was afraid. I wasn't sure what to expect but one day I decided to dive in.
Hi JulieMProvost. It is great to see that you are getting into the game after a long wait. A couple of key points you may want to remember as you find your writer's voice:
Go into edit Profile mode and make sure you've selected to show all hubs whether featured or not. There is a default that indicates: "Show only featured hubs?" - change that to NO
otherwise all your hubs will not be seen unless they are featured - therefore, will gain few views.
About the frequency of writing...write when you have something valuable to say. We'll read it.
Good luck and all the best to you.
Peg
Welcome to Hubpages Julie!
It depends on how inspired you are. There are times I start to write and then let it go, only to come back and finish it in minutes. Some hubs takes days to develop.
Just make sure you have a niche, something you are passionate about, and take your camera with you everywhere you go (Smartphones will work). You never know when you'll find something interesting to write about.
Wish you the best here on Hubpages!!!
Thanks! That is a good idea to always been thinking about a new hub.
Welcome Julie!
I just started as well and have been writing one per day since I signed up (only 4). It was probably go down to once or twice a week for me depending on my time schedule.
Hi Julie Welcome! It all depends on how much time you have to dedicate towards writing.
Hi JulieMProvost, welcome to getting started. It really is a wonderful place to write. As swilliams said, it depends on how much time you have to write. It also depends on your personal goal. It is up to you. When I started, I tried to write 2 to 3 a week which was suggested. I eventually went down to one per week, then 2 to 3 a month. My current goal is one per month which varies based on my busy schedule. That pattern worked for me but there are hubbers who publish way more than that, some everyday. You have to create a writng schedule that works best for you.
Thanks so much. It sounds like I will get into a groove soon.
When I first started I tried to write at least three a week. Now, I just write whenever I have a day off and something in mind I think I can write about. I'd be happy with writing one hub a week right now, but I'd like to get back up to two. I'd say I do pretty well with my current habits; I make a stable income right now, and I have a few people that regularly read my hub. And that makes me pretty happy. Best of luck!
Hi Julie, welcome to HP. It took me a long time to become active on here too, but once I began reading and commented on other people's hubs I became accepted into the community and the encouragement I received was great. I am now addicted to writing hubs, and maybe write around three or four per week depending on my muse...lol. I encourage you to just start writing, and the readers will come.
Thanks! I can see how it can become addicting
Welcome Julie! I too signed up over a year ago and only started writing a few hubs recently. But once you get hooked on hubbing you never stop. I encourage you to go at your own pace. I usually write a hub a week and if I'm up for it I increase it to two. But really depends. People here eventually notice you when you are active. So keep at it and hope to see more great hubs from you!
Yeah good luck Julie. It is awesome. I started off quite awesome but then tailed off a bit. A year passed and I became average and have now dropped well below par.
On the plus side there is only one way to go. Or two if you include the drink.

Hi Hubbers,I am curious as to how long you would spend from start to finish on any particular hub, do you set yourself an amount of time to spend on it? Would you spend longer than one day on one hub?tlcs is curious!

I have had many people encourage me to write a book. I've had quite a few experiences in life (good and bad) that I've come through, learning much in the process. One of the BIG trauma's of my life was raising an extremely rebellious oppositional defiant son. He has grown to be a...

I was just wondering how long a hub takes you to write from concept to published? I am using hubpages as the start of my freelance writing career and I am working being more productive. I am also only doing my second hub now. I have an editor now so that will add time to the process still...

How many hubs is it possible to write in a day?

Yikes! So many hubs and so little time. I find myself reading hubs when I should be doing my other job. It's addicting.
