I noticed yesterday that the videos I am posting from You tube have no sound. It is not my computer because other sites have plenty of sound.
If you are uploading videos from your computer to YouTube and then are unable to hear the audio if audio originally existed, then this is likely an issue with the files you are using, your computer, or YouTube.
Unless there are other details that you can provide, this is unlikely to be related to HubPages.
You may want to upgrade your browser, clear the cache, update Flash, etc.
It is possible that the video file you are using uses an audio codec or bitrate not supported by YouTube.

You misunderstand: I am uploading FROM You Tube TO my posts here in HP. Until yesterday evening, I have had no problems doing this. Hub Pages is the ONLY site that is not receiving sound on my computer. Any advice?
So are you using a YouTube video and embedding it in a Hub video capsule? If you play the video directly in YouTube (not embedded) do you hear audio?
If this is related to a specific Hub, please share the Hub URL and/or title as well as the specific video and the URL for the video on YouTube as well.
To eliminate Flash or browser issues, try another browser like Opera or Firefox as well to see if the audio is available.
The way the video capsule works is that we are simply embedding the video from YouTube, so if the audio plays there it should not play any differently when embedded.
My two most recent hubs have no sound, but you are right, there was no sound on the You Tube Video. I tried several different videos on their site and was unable to get any sound. I thought this was a temporary glitch, but apparently something is wrong in You Tube right now. How can we contact them for a fix?
I would first make sure that there isn't an issue with the video files or the audio codecs you used for them.

I just used my Firefox browser and the sound came through fine. I use Chrome and until yesterday, as I said, there were no problems. As far as I can tell, there is no sound on ANY of the videos on my posts now, even ones I put on quite awhile ago. Is there a way to fix this in Chrome before I try what you just suggested?
The first link is like greek to me... I have no idea what those numbers mean or how to use them.
The second suggests updating flash player...chrome does that automatically. I am stumped! Can you help me?
The sound is back. The only thing I did was on one of the videos I clicked the microphone button and this seemed to bring back the sound on every video..or at least the ones I tried. I guess I'm OK now, but I cannot figure out what happened!!
I have noticed this too. Several of the videos start up in mute and I have to un-mute them and restart them.
I have noticed a couple though which are completely silent. I have noticed no 'x' and tried to click the speakers a few times but no luck.
Examiner: That's interesting. I clicked the little sound icon and the sound returned on every single video! I thought this whole situation a bit strange.
I had to click it on every single video (I am talking about the speaker icon at the bottom).
As I mentioned there were a couple that there was absolutely no sound from. I watched one today in fact.
That should not be happening. If you look further up this thread there are some links from Matthew you may find helpful.
I looked at the links above. I was not talking about having a problem on HP, I am this having this problem on the videos directly from their sites.
Do not worry. I did not read the entire forum - I was not clear.

They were there yesterday, and today they are gone. Can I just get them back, or do you think they are gone for a reason?

How many views a day should a first YouTube video get?I know that it will depend on many things, but on average, if a person does not have any subscribers, how many views a day is a good sign?

Is it Okay to use all You tube videos in a Video hub? Or we must upload only our own videos?

I've tried both YouTube and Yahoo videos. When I enter either the link or the embed code, everything appears to be working except I cannot see or preview the videos in the capsule. I just get that funky little box with the x in it. I can, however, view the videos on both YouTube and Yahoo, so it's...

Is anyone having issues with You Tube Videos on their articles? Yesterday I checked one of mine, and the song played, but there were no pictures. I tried again today, and the same thing happened. The song can be heard, but you can't see the video. My computer forced Windows 10 on me last week, and...
