   I just have a question for anyone who can answer this.  I only have about 8 hubs and 675 views overall.  But, far as i can tell, i haven't made a penny off any of my hubs yet.  I have all the affiliate things setup (or most) and check them often.
   
   Is there a secret number of hubs, or views, one must achieve to make any money at this?

      Just keep writing.  The more hubs you write, the more traffic you will get. Enjoy the forum more than try to profit and it will be easier.

               No it's not and the original owner of the article can apply to have it removed.  Unfortunately there's so much stuff on the internet, it can be hard to know when someone has copied your stuff.  HubPages has a nice feature which flags your Hubs if they're duplicated somewhere.  You can click and find out where the duplicate is, and do something about it.  That's one reason I like writing here.

               It may be legal, may be not. You are allowed to copy from ezinearticles and many other article directories, as long as you also copy the author info with the link. They didn't. So, if they are not the original author and do not have author's exclusive permission, they are doing this illegally.

      Travelhuni, duplicate content won't earn a dime, ever.  To earn money, you must attract search engine traffic.  Search engines don't like content that's already appeared elsewhere, and they'll put it on page 279 of search results. So even if you wrote the ezine articles you've copied, it's not going to do you any good.
      
      To earn money at HubPages, you need to write original articles on subjects people want to read about.  Then you need to sit back and wait three or four months (don't ask me why, that's just the way it is).  After that, the pennies will start coming in, then they'll start coming in faster and faster, and one day you'll be very happy with your earnings.

      Well, to be fair in this case they are not necessarily thieves. They could wrote those articles themselves, just tried to publish them on several websites.

   Strange, I am not sure if my content is appearing elsewhere on the internet, but everything i have written here is 100% original and written by me.  Not sure why anyone would assume otherwise.   Maybe not the quality of some of you experienced writers, but mine nonetheless.
   
   I was simply asking for direction and help from those of you who DO earn money, as to How many hubs must you have before the "pennies" come in? how many views?
   
   I like writing but I dont plan to continue doing it just for fun, the bottom line is I want to make at least SOME money from this.
   
   Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.  The only direction I've gotten so far is "keep writing".  Just trying to get a definite goal in line.

      Even if you wrote this for another site-- it will be flagged as duplicate content.  If someone copied you, you can take action aganinst the copier or the site.

      You should be aware of this-- several of them appear under the same by line. I guess I am assuming it is all yours, including the solar power one on eZine, the wedding on a budget from Helium and the five tips for parents on www. internetmarketing. The articles are good, but because of being duplicates on other sites they will not catch the search engine traffic.

   I would suggest rethinking what audience you have been targetting as they may be the wrong ones and make articles that are timeless and will have people return to time and again. hope that helps.

       I have two of the same articles published, one here on hubpages and one on e -how.  E-how originally flagged it for duplicate content and wouldn't publish it until I emailed them and explained I was the author..It can be done

    I have written several articles for internet content in the last month all sold but one.  That one didn't sell because I didn't expand on a topic enough during a revision request.  Whatever though, I only lost three bucks.  Anyway, copyright infringement scares me because I actually think about what I am writing to make it good (best attempts anyway).  If someone out there in internet land comes to hubpages and steals my stuff or any of your stuff, that would be a traumatic event for us all.  I hope hubpages protects us, furthermore I hope all the other internet sites I've sold articles to protects that content from copyright infringment.  Anyway, I have been a member for six days and have six hubs.  I haven't earned anything either.  I assume that it takes time for the search engines to rank the pages and place them where they need to be.  Just gonna have to wait and see.  Until then I will write more everyday, except in August when I go home on leave.

    I'm like travelhuni, except that I have made a dime from my writing and it's all original and only posted here.  Well, actually I've made more than a dime, about 13 cents so far on HubPages.  But everything I've written here is original and I have not posted it elsewhere--although in some cases, I've simply re-written something I've already done before.  I should note my re-writes are COMPLETE re-writes, not just changing a couple of lines here and there, so I don't get flagged for duplication. 
    
    Pretty frustrating.  Especially when the wife gives me dirty looks for spending so much time online and I have very little to show for it.

       Curiozities, I only earned a couple of dollars in my first 3 months, too, and I had 55 Hubs under my belt.  No one seems to earn much in the first 2-3 months (except the odd genius!). 
       
       Tip - don't start your Hubs with a big photo.  The prime position for an ad is in the top right hand corner, so always start your Hub with a paragraph of text long enough to allow that ad to appear. 
       
       I also wouldn't put full-width Amazon ads in - most people find they don't convert well unless they're very tightly targeted, and some readers won't scroll down past them.
