    Hi All,

Just wanted to give a heads up that I carefully prepared and edited 10 of my hubs, as per the instructions then applied for Adsense and I was soundly rejected the next day. I don't pretend to be the greatest writer but I am confident in my writing skills and reading appeal for the subjects I cover.

Is it that Adsense sees my other 80 hubs, most of which need some editing and sees an overall sloppy picture? Do I have to wait till until I clean up my entire hub load?

They did invite me to try again in the future but many of the improvement suggestions don't apply to me. Till then no mula from Adsense. sad

Wow.  That is not encouraging news.  Try again.  I got it for my old account here which is not as good as what's coming over.  Sadly, I can't remember how to get back in that old Google account.  It's a mess but I'm not dealing with it until everything is moved.

Hubpages paid a lot of money for the Squidoo buyout.  Maybe they will be willing to help authors figure out how to do this because anyone that can't get it is going to be leaving and taking their stuff with them.  One thing about squids, when they squawk they take their buddies with them.  Just look at Goody Guides, talk about taking off and all prompted by this move.

A few here and there is no big deal but if you consider the possibility of over 90% leaving, the question then becomes what on earth did HP pay for?  They won't have anything.  See what you can find in the learning center and reapply.

I would be interested to see some current numbers comparing acceptance rates of HP applicants to those outside of HP.

        Thank you for responding Rhonda,

I also would be interested in the numbers. The more people getting their tenses transferred but can't get accepted to Adsense would be a major problem.

I will look more at the learning center. I'm pretty sure I'm following HubPages guidelines when I edit.  I'll put their message to me below. I will reapply when I get all my Hubs edited. But jeez louise! Here's what they said. A lot of these don't really apply to my hubs.    Kim

We did not approve your application for the reasons listed below.

Insufficient content: To be approved for AdSense and show relevant ads on your site, your pages need to have enough text on them for our specialists to review and for our crawler to be able to determine what your pages are about.

To resolve this issue, please work through the following suggestions:

Make sure that your pages have sufficient text - websites that contain mostly images, videos or Flash animations will not be approved.
Your content should contain complete sentences and paragraphs, not only headlines.
Ensure that your website is fully built and launched before you apply for AdSense - do not apply while your site’s still in a beta or “under construction” phase or only consists of a website template.
Place the ad code on a live page of your website. It does not have to be the main page, but test pages that are empty except for the AdSense ad code will not be approved.
Provide a clear navigation system for your visitors so that they can easily find all of the sections and pages of your website.
If you’d like to monetize YouTube videos, please apply for the YouTube monetization program. Note that blogs and websites that contain only videos will not be approved.
As soon as you’ve made the necessary changes, we’ll be happy to take another look at your application.

If you already have an Adsense account, then you'll be breaking Adsense TOS to apply for another one - which is likely to result in you getting banned from Adsense altogether!   So it is important to sort out that old account first.

First of all, you can use the same Adsense account for all your accounts and that will consolidate your earnings anyway. Payout is faster. So your case doesn't apply unless you don't have that account anymore. You need to figure out how to get into your old account.

In the case of the OP, is HP the only place you have articles? Do you have any blogs of your own?

As per the help pages you need 20-25 hubs to have a chance of getting Adsense and I suspect them all being recent will also count against some people subject to the 6 month rule.

I guess to me they don't feel recent but to AdSense they do. I guess I'll have to just be patient and keep working on editing and making new Hubs. Thank you for the added info from the Help Pages.  It looks like  many of us from Squidoo who don't have AdSense already will need to be newbies and earn our way slowly for approval.

I don't see much help in this topic, but I'm hoping someone from the HP staff will give us some assistance.

I applied for an Adsense account back in February when I created my first Hub.  I only had two hubs and didn't realize that Adsense was so picky (I didn't read the entire learning center - my fault) - so they disapproved my account.  I gave up on HP at that time.  Squidoo made earning too easy.

Now, Adsense defaults to my old HP account which still has only 2 pages.  I have tried a number of times to contact google so that I can use the NEW HP login instead of the old one, but when I try to resubmit, it still has the old username with no option to change it.

I tried creating a new account, but I'm guessing since my name is the same it's not going to like that account even though my e-mail address is different.

I really need some help.  I feel like I'm losing money every day.  The main reason I joined Squidoo was so that I could make money at home doing something I love.  Does anyone know how to contact a real person at google?

I made a new gmail account  last week and applied for AdSense- my application was accepted even though it was rejected for different reasons (the 'hubs not been there long enough' problem.

Previously I had an old hub account with no hubs that was of course rejected by AdSense a couple years ago (that's another story).  For this  new AdSense application, I created a brand new gmail address, new google plus, everything. It seemed to accept the application   I'm going to wait a few months before applying again.

Try a new gmail and have a new full hubs that have been around for awhile.  Even though it's the same real name, it should go through.

        I'm confused .. .
If they accepted your application, why do you need to apply again in a few months?

Sorry I wasn't clear. They rejected me, but not because I had my same name with a new gmail account. My getting a new gmail didn't effect my being able to reapply.

Is that clearer, sorry it's late and I'm getting a little tired. smile

This is one of the big problems with Adsense.   Once you've submitted an application with one URL, you can't change it.  I don't know what to suggest, other than writing a dozen more Hubs for that account, or perhaps moving some of your WIPs over to that account.

If you didn't get as far as giving them a snail mail address, then you can probably apply again with a new email.  Lots of people have the same name so they won't necessarily connect the two.

When I first signed on at HP, I was rejected soundly more than once. But, then I had no hubs posted. I tried again recently with 11 hubs posted. The reply was more encouraging and the suggestions were a bit different than the first rejection. I'll try again once I have 20+ hubs. Also, I found this hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/Getting-Accepte … ejections. It may be helpful. Doing a search on the topic yields quite a few more hubs which look promising as well.

I was also rejected by Ad sense a few days ago.I'm thinking that when I have edited all lenses now hubs they may reconsider.

Your account needs age as well as sufficient content, so give it another two weeks then retry.

LOL!  Lots of people have the same name . . . in most cases, yes!
In my case . . . no, but you are correct, perhaps that's not something they check for.

My new name was also disapproved for lack of content.  After mulling over, here's what I'm thinking . . .

I wonder how long it takes to get stuff indexed into google with the new URL.  Even though I have over 100 pages, I'm guessing that Google doesn't "see" them yet.  All they see is the 301 redirect.  (I would love to see someone with more SEO knowledge than me confirm)

I wish that Seth and the powers that be here at Hubpages had done some communicating with Adsense to make arrangements for Hubpages to have a grace period of automatic approval.

Guess we just have to wait a bit . . .

Tip:  always read the forums in Chronological, not Threaded, view.  That way you won't miss answers which have been given to other people, which are applicable to you!

There are two factors that Adsense looks at:   the amount of content and time.   If you apply with a brand new Hub account, you'll get rejected.  You need to wait for at least a month before you apply.

If they match multiple application based on... anything even your computer's IP address, well you may lose both accounts permanently.

I know it is a pain in the ass, but if you have a preexisting account it pays to resolve its status.

You write as though Seth and Paul Edmonson (of HP) have some kind of special relationship with Google. They don't.  They're just webmasters like everyone else, and Google treats all webmasters with disdain.   Evidence of that goes way back to the first Panda - when HubPages traffic died, Paul didn't arrange a meeting with Google to discuss the situation - he had to get on the public webmaster forums like everyone else, and the whole debate (and ultimate decision to go with sub-domains) was carried on in that forum.

HubPages has always made it clear that Hubbers' relationship with Adsense is personal and they can't interfere.

I have had two hubs transferred from Squidoo and  I already had an Ad Sense account for my blog.   I followed the instructions from Hub Pages on adding Ad Sense and when I  checked an everything is good to go..  My Ad Sense account shows my Hub Pages and my blog.

I was also rejected by AdSense, even though ~150 articles were ported over from Squidoo last week. I'm guessing that the 'new' Hubs need to mature on their new home before AdSense will approve my new account.

Many of my articles were earning Amazon and eBay sales, and I've had over 10,000 views in the week or so that they have been featured on HubPages. Will any earnings accrue in my account until I'm approved for the AdSense and eBay programs? Or are the earnings forfeited until I'm approved for AdSense?

    Thank you!

Hi, I would like to know this also!

      1. Marisa Wright profile image85

The answer is simple - you can't earn from the program until you're eligible, and you're not eligible without an Adsense account.  So you can't earn from the program - the only thing you can use is your own Amazon account if you have one.

My AdSense wasn't approved either and I wondered if it was because of my unedited hubs. I had 100 hubs so I was pretty surprised.

Tip:  it's a good idea to switch the forums to Chronological view, that way you don't miss answers to other people that also answer your question.

Adsense requires volume of work AND maturity.  Leave it a month or so and try again.

    Hello,
    Background:
After transferring to Hubpages from Squidoo, I prematurely applied for an Adsense account and was rejected but told I could reapply.

    Update:
Well, I just received notice that my Adsense was approved! This was without reapplying.

I think as long as your application was straightforward and you have all your info correct, you can reapply or be accepted.

    What I did:
Made a NEW gmail account specifically for Adsense.
I've been very active editing my hubs and making new ones.

    Good luck everyone!

This is why you got approved, not because you switched to gmail.  AdSense does not care what email you use, they care about the quality of your content.
