I was notified about a comment by the auto generated e-mail, which does not exist on my hub.  What happened?  This is normally a regular commenter.

The HubPages user Jackie Lynnley left a comment on your Hub Life at Boomer Lake with Deb, Monday September 8, 2014.

To read and respond to this comment, follow the link below:

Did you check under your account for her comment as you must approve all of your comments being you have them set to not automatically approve them ... which I know you know.  A couple of times, HP thought couple of long-time hubbers' comments were spam, when they were not for some reason, and so I just went ahead and said okay to approve the comment.  This will happen when a hubber is trying to catch up on commenting and makes a ton of comments in a short period of time, and so HP may think of them as spammers.  That is strange though that you do not see a comment to approve?  Hope someone knows the answers.

        That's a good point.

Always check for comments filed as spam.  This is how you do that:

Go to your Accounts page and choose "Comments" from the top menu bar. Choose "Spam" from the pull-down menu under "Filter."

Jackie's comment wasn't there, Writer Fox, but there were dozens of others!  Any other thoughts on where to find her comment?

She isn't in there, Faith Reaper, even now.  Found lots of comments under spam though, some of them years old.

That's why it's good to check the spam file once a week!

We still haven't solved the poser about Jackie's missing comment.  I meant any other suggestions for that.

Well, I don't think the notification comes through for comments that go into the spam box, so that's probably not where the missing comment is.

It's hard to tell since so many of that Hubber's Hubs have the same title (with different dates attached).

She could go to the commenter's activity page and try to find the comment that way.

Another option is to go on HubPages and right click comments for a new tab to see whether there are any comments which have not shown up yet.

She still isn't in there, Dave.  I cannot right-click with my mac.

Then just click on it as usual and return to HubPages when you are done.

That lost comment has never happened before.  It has also been a number of hours since the auto-generated message was posted.  Normally, it will show that it was deleted, which I was not privy to, at least not yet.  Can you retrieve it via the number?  I mentioned it to Jackie Lynnley on one of her hubs, so perhaps I will have more information for you later.

Located the missing comment and sent you an email from the team inbox, @aviannovice.

Thanks for all your help, @Faith Reaper, @The Examiner-1, and @Writer Fox.

Thanks for your help.  Will I be able to have it as a comment and add it to my hub?
