Convert the Squidoo Social Media Accounts

Squidoo had quite a few social media accounts to support their various programs and magazine pages. I would like to see those accounts continue, to support the content on HubPages.

For example, a lot of my vegan recipes were posted to GoodVeg magazine, which has both a Facebook and a Twitter account:

    https://www.facebook.com/Why.Vegetarian (27,808 likes)
    https://twitter.com/GoodVegMag (982 followers)

That's 28,000 people who signed up to see vegan and vegetarian content daily from Squidoo. We should convert those folks to HubPages readers! Each time one of my articles or recipes was posted to these accounts, I saw a nice bump in traffic on all my vegan-oriented content. At a time when we're all looking for ways to maintain the traffic levels that Google seems to be taking away, it seems a shame to let these direct lines to readers vanish.

    Other accounts I know about:

    Lens of the Day
    https://www.facebook.com/SquidooLensoftheDay (14,989 likes)
    https://twitter.com/SquidooLOTD (1,100 followers)

    So Crafty
    https://www.facebook.com/socraftymag (9,820 likes)
    https://twitter.com/SoCraftyMag (361 followers)

    Halloween
    https://www.facebook.com/HappyHalloweenMag (9,520 likes)
    https://twitter.com/HalloweenMag (272 followers)

      Hi Lisa,

We are still working on gaining access from Squidoo to all of these accounts. We plan to merge accounts where possible, but we will only be maintaining the HubPages brand, so many of the Squidoo accounts will ultimately be closed.

It would be wonderful if there were a way to keep the GoodVeg brand and convert it to HubPages. Lots of vegetarians are looking for good recipes! The page was attractive too.

Stephanie did a great job of keeping those seasonal recipes rolling by, as well as introducing new ones as they were added. I have one recipe that appeared on the page, like clockwork, every October, which gave a bump to all my vegan content.

        Hi Christy,

Would (assuming you can get access to the accounts) it at least be possible to announce that Squidoo has moved to HP so that we don't lose these viewers?

          +1

My content was featured regularly on the Why Veg Facebook page. I'd love it if those 27,000 people were made aware that HubPages exists. Most of them were probably not following for Squidoo, but for vegan and vegetarian recipes that were posted daily.

If we go to the pins we added to Squidoo's SoCrafy , and change the Squidoo address from Squidoo to the new HubPages address, would that pin merge with the HubPages brand?

You don't have to change any links. The 301 redirects are already taking people who click on old Squidoo links to their new locations on HubPages.

I think this is an excellent idea. It would also help everyone from relying on Google so heavily.
