I am getting really fed up with seeing this message
2 potentially broken links have been detected in this Hub. They are highlighted below. You can correct the link by editing the containing capsule.
The reason is because NO LINKS ARE SHOWN as broken or potentially broken. There's nothing I can do as there are no indicators whatsoever of what needs to be fixed.
It always happens when it comes down to one or two links need fixing and I spend ages checking up and down trying to find the link that needs fixing when nothing is evident.
This has happened on multiple hubs - which suggests to me something in the broken link finder is broken.
There is a delay between when the links are edited and the message.
If you know that you have addressed the broken links, then you can disregard the messages until the later check is completed.
MaM, have you tried the "Broken Links" link in your account to see if or what it shows there? I've had the same thing happen, where the broken link was not actually highlighted, but it was listed under Broken Links...sometimes actually broken and sometimes not, in which case I clicked to "ignore" and removed the notification.
also.......
Two queries:
1) Why is there no instruction on this page as to what "Ignore" and "Test" actually mean? When should one use "Ignore"? What is the "test" actually applied to?
2) Why when you click "test" does it seem to just retest the link already identified rather than the actual hub to see if the link still exists. What's the point of retesting a duff link?
Solutions please:
1) Can we please have a clear explanation as to when to use Ignore
2) Please can there also be an extra "test" which should be located next to the title of the hub and applied to the WHOLE HUB from scratch (and not just a link) so that people can see whether or not there are still any broken links
At the moment there is nothing on this page which allows you to see whether or not you have fixed a hub properly.
The test buttons allows you to force a retest of the broken links.
The ignore button can be used however you desire.
If you know that you have edited a Hub and addressed the broken links, you can ignore it for example.
I'm still confused. Why on earth would I want to retest a broken link? You know it's broken. I know it's broken. What's the value to be gained from testing it?
I thought the point of identifying the broken link was to
1) highlight it as something needing to be fixed
2) then fix it
3) so that the NEW LINK could be tested to check that it's OK
The only test that makes sense to me on the Broken Links Page is one which applies to the WHOLE HUB.
Why not include the facility to retest the whole hub on the Broken Links Page ie the test is against the hub URL and not the broken link? That makes sense to me.
I had a broken link message but couldn't see a problem with the links I provided.
Then I noticed a video I'd included was just a black box. Clicked on it and discovered the youtube video had been removed.
Yep, broken link.

Have you had this happen to you? I searched for the highlighted broken link but I could not find one. So how do you clear the notice?

We just made a small update to the site. The biggest change is the addition of the broken link report. It will show you broken links in your text and link capsules. We'll be trying to test all links about once a week, and re-test broken links every 24 hours or so. A link could be...

This is a great feature HP has...flagging Hubs where links within those Hubs are broken. However, just in the last 20 minutes, four of my Hubs showed on My Account page as having broken links. Only one did. (As in, there was no yellow text when looking at those Hubs in edit mode, for three of...

It's not professional, and readers are getting a false impression. Has anyone heard why false YT broken links report this keep happening?

Matthew, I got a broken link icon for this hub. When I put it in edit mode, nothing is highlighted. I deleted one pic I thought it might be and two promotional comments with a website.com. It's still saying that the broken link is there but I can't find it. Please check,...

I have a YouTube video at the bottom of a hub which used to be viewable, but now is not. However, the introductory still picture still shows up and it is very pertinent to the subject. It is of a piece of art that was auctioned at a record breaking price. The question is: is it all right to leave...
